By this time i can say that EWN and Water are always guaranteed skips for me. The middle part of the album is really lacking. Feels like Ye just threw these 2 songs in bc he wanted more songs on the album and those were some older tracks that were already finished.

I loved the caravan scenes. Safely and expeditiously moving his family away from the exterior world to HIS land. Particularly symbolic that he was personally driving the whip with his wife’s mother. Dope in that it centers the mother figure (in contrast with the focus on the father in the follow god vid), but also particularly interesting because Kris has found so much success in the outside / material world. You can tell that she looks wide-eyed and a little scared by the scale and “emptiness” of their new land. But by the time we get to the family shots she’s smiling. Kanye’s holding them down and keeping them all safe. They have everything they need. And despite his power, he’s praying to a higher energy that he’ll be able to continue protecting his home and kin. And he’s doing it from the top of a mountain he owns. Overlooking other mountains he owns. Greatest flex of the decade and it’s not even close.
