Dec 1, 2019Man, I enjoy this album a lot. But it also kinda feels like something I'm gonna enjoy even more when I take a step back years from now.
Like, he is really the only guy who could have done this album at this time blending these elements at this level in the limelight and he knows it too. Its just such a flex. Just like how Yeezus was.
I'll be honest I wasn't wholeheartedly backing the music like i did in the past tlop era forward but this really put me back in his ring he know's what he's doing musically as he always has

"City in the Sky"? Has Cudi, Ty Dolla $ign , 070 Shake, Desiigner and The Dream. Should have been in the album IMO, fits the theme too.

VivaJeebusI loved the caravan scenes. Safely and expeditiously moving his family away from the exterior world to HIS land. Particularly symbolic that he was personally driving the whip with his wife’s mother. Dope in that it centers the mother figure (in contrast with the focus on the father in the follow god vid), but also particularly interesting because Kris has found so much success in the outside / material world. You can tell that she looks wide-eyed and a little scared by the scale and “emptiness” of their new land. But by the time we get to the family shots she’s smiling. Kanye’s holding them down and keeping them all safe. They have everything they need. And despite his power, he’s praying to a higher energy that he’ll be able to continue protecting his home and kin. And he’s doing it from the top of a mountain he owns. Overlooking other mountains he owns. Greatest flex of the decade and it’s not even close.
