I know that ye is trying to get production in the states but I don't remember him stating it was to no longer support the f***ed up conditions in foreign countries

I've never heard him speak up about it so his motives might be other things (ownership, power, employing black people etc) or those other things including stopping exploitation...idk

All I'm saying is he's dropping tweets and this video like some sort of campaign against artist exploitation by labels (which is a real thing and I hope that it gets resolved in favor of the artists)when I have yet to hear him out this type of energy in other issues that don't impact him directly....(correct me if I'm wrong)

I think that he truly wants to change things and if he could end all world suffering but we need to adress his thirst to be the savior for all; his issues always turn into missions to save "us" (in this case the exploited artists and him being their "Moses" ) when there are collectives of "us" that could need his billionaire, millions of followers, culturally relevant voice too...

So you’re saying Ye should be more outspoken on more social causes?

    Hyperbolic speech my guy
What's the purpose of making that video then... Imo to get the court of public opinion on his side

Usually business dealings happen behind closed doors
When artists go public against like this it's too raise awareness

Even prince talked about how people didn't know about his s***ty deal until he wrote slave on his cheek (that's why he did that)

The message is clear, we need to know about this; now what are we (the general public) going to do besides support our favorite artists

Michael Jackson attended rallyes for when he felt he was being wronged by the industry too...

So don't come at me with this disingenuous remark like Kanye isn't trying to get the court of public opinion on his side or raise awareness for his situation within the music industry

Ps: if you can't entertain discussions that require more than snarky one liners/clapbacks please do not reply and keep the silly "didn't read lol, whoa there blablabla" to yourself too.

Bro everybody is fighting different fights in they’re life. I just don’t understand where in all of this you felt like somebody was asking you to do something?

All these tweet and the videos were directed at “Artists”. If you are an artist who isn’t being compensated correctly maybe you should feel motivated to rally behind this.

Just like workers in sweat shops Unionize and fight for fair compensation.

    Make sense?

I get your angle and I agree that each person has his fight, artists wanting what is owed to them is a legitimate fight.

But celebs aren't the average person who posts only reach friends/acquaintances ; it would make sense if those workers who unionize had platforms that reached million of followers to get support from...
these celebs can get out here each election year to endorse candidate X, Y and Z but asking them them to speak up about anything else is too much it seems...
I'm just questioning when Kanye feels like he needs to pull out the big production like his president rally and now this video...

The way Kanye frames his "fights" you'd think white supremacy only affects creatives who don't own their masters or get Louis Vuitton deals (referring to his rant about the fashion industry years ago)

I repeat :Im not saying these "fights" are invalid, to me it just speaks volumes when the word slave gets tossed around for artists who get fame and tours (his words) whilst not acknowledging modern day slavery in the world... I just felt like I had to voice my uneasiness with that didn't mean to demean the plight of starving artists out here lol

As a musician myself, we need these celebs to help us make a change regarding this topic, as they have big power to actually be able to make change in the industry.

Remember what George Michael or Prince did too.

And also, here are a couple of videos that explain some of the things that happen in the industry right now:

I completely agree with you. And maybe there will be more celebrities with a platform who decide to speak up about these different issues.

But we can’t single out an individual for not having they’re hands in “every” pot. That’s not realistic. When ever there a vision there must be FOCUS. You can’t spread yourself thin and expect to make a major change in a certain sector.
