And to a majority of black people that looked at him. Stop it lmao. If any black person other than kanye did what he did theyd be criticized by the black community. Oh wait, it actually happens on a day to day basis.

This isnt what we are discussing

that’s exactly why it’s brave you are proving my point

I mean he clearly isn't just using his voice for that though. He is trying to create products and s*** for the future. Whether I think he will be successful is a different story, but you can't tell me he isn't putting an honest effort into building his own brand.

Idk bro, I don't wanna count this dude out. He has been the underdog his whole career and time and time again he shows everyone why you shouldn't count him out.

I mean, I think you said it right there: he’s used his voice to build his OWN brand. I don’t keep up with it much but what products is he developing besides sneakers and t shirts? I’ll give him kudos on the prison reform issue and what not but all and all the whole thing reads like a very successful MLM. I don’t want to count him out either, huge Kanye fan. But I can’t sit here and tell you with an honest heart that I trust what he’s doong

Nah most rap fans do you forget theres people over 30 years old who arent kanye stans. What impact can kanye have as a billionaire?

I dont know what ur saying in the first part lol. If u ask a random person on the street who killed mike is, they probably wouldnt know that's just the truth, ja rule was on stage and got no reaction from the crowd when he used to be running s***.

And wym as billionaire in a world that is literally run on money u really think he cant do anything ??

It’s not about the money. It’s about having & owning the product/entity. The money is just a byproduct of that but not the main point.

    I already talked about that.

Kanye had a voice before he owned anything.

And him owning Yeezy doesn't make a difference because he doesn't own the media platforms or the label he's on that are capable of doing the silencing.

i think killer mike caping for a democratic socialist and surrendering to the Democratic Party after they blatantly f***ed him over in 2016 is weak willed, but to each their own

Yeah but tbh at this point, what can you do bro. Biden sucks but he is a hell of a lot better than Trump is. I think Bernie was pretty conflicted but at the end of the day, he still a democrat even if he is a soc dem

I mean the point I made makes logical sense.

Saying you have to have a lot of money and own something in order to have a voice makes 0 sense at all.

This like saying you gotta be a Mike Bloomberg and you can't be a Bernie Sanders

No it didn't b and multiple people have already argued off to your point it'd just you don't like Kanye so you're playing devils advocate.

Which is fine but like it'd just wrong here because his point was clear and right.

Malcolm was in shambles at the end of they lives especially Malcolm as he was in the courts with NOI to keep his house and tryna raise funds to make his own Mosque.

Even he understood that you need money for those things if he didnt he wouldn't have been do money focused towards the end.

But that historical arguement to the side Kanye was right y'all don't give Killer Mike,Talib or any if the Niggas you agree with half the attention you do Ye because who's platform is bigger.

And his platform has maintained its size because of his power and money because this is a capitalist society where Money is king.

That's why Trump is President and Bernie isn't

"No billionaire impacts politics in a significant way."

Cmon bro you know this is legitimately just wrong dude. We have Donald f***ing Trump as a president in the United States. We had Mike Bloomberg literally buy his way onto a political stage by dropping half a billi. Politics are absolutely influenced by billionaires lmfao. Corporations and people with immense wealth control almost every facet of politics.

People criticize him about his MAGA takes which rightfully so, and the slavery s***. How you gonna tell a dude who made a billion acting the way he does to stop acting that way lol. Idk bro, like if s*** is working and you are successful in spite of your missteps, I feel like I would keep doing what I have been doing.

You forget, the same loud ass Ye was calling out George Bush. That is the same dude. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't act like he does now.

I said in a significant way. I didnt say you can't bea billionaire and become a politician. I meant using your status as a billionaire or your platform to get people to listen to you. People dont just randomly go "hey this guys a billionaire let me sit down and listen to him". there are other underlining causes.

Imma tell him because he looks like a clown that wont be taken seriously. Are people taking kanye more serious than when he wasnt a billionaire?

I dont believe kanyes the same person. This isnt the same dude. Man made gold digger and then married a white woman.

From what it seems like, he is trying to build up enough capital to actually make structural changes. Tbf, I am not as informed as some others are so they probably could give you a better summation. But it seems like he wants to try to make like affordable living and s*** for people

From what I been hearing he planning on moving yeezy production to america which would open up jobs for many americans and I dont if true but I heard he would hire ex inmates (rumored). And I think he was developing some eco friendly water bottle, and more eco friendly architecture

I mean, you can still lobby and do other things politically. If you pitch enough money the right way, people will listen. Regardless, you kind of moved the goalpost because becoming a politician still implies making significant changes. Even if you aren't a politician, I promise you niggas like Mark Zuckerburg are lobbying for their own best interests by using their brand and influence financially to keep their business alive.

I think people are taking him just as serious now as when he told Jay he wanted to make his first album. They laughed at him and told him nah. People have thought Ye was a clown for years bro, it's just how it is. I really don't see that ever changing. Tbf, he kind of is one. But he has generated a lot of success doing it his way

At this point, we could go on for hours and neither one is gonna budge lol

  • Apr 25, 2020

Ye capitalized on his product. The product isn’t the shoes but it’s Kanye himself. He knew he could make more money off of his name alone and he succeed in that.

From the things I’ve heard him say he plans on doing a ton of s*** through yeezy.

    • Quality clothing at a cheap price. Like an improved Uniqlo

    • architecture. The domes he was building. Plus he talked about working on trying to build hurricane proof structures in places like the Bahamas.

    • relief company. Said he wants Yeezy to eventually act as a relief company over the world bringing food/clothing to different parts of the world.

    • prison reform. Said he plans to hire ex inmantes through the prison reform system.

    • few other things probably but you get the gist.

Will he do all these things? Idk but he’s followed through so far so well see

He's saying without money or owning something your voice can easily be taken away.

With money your voice, or more accurately, direct influence will always be heard.

Arsenio Hall got his voice taken away when those who owned him no longer liked what he had to say.

Had Arsenio owned his platform (with money behind it), he'd still have a voice (again, direct influence).

Thus, when you have money, no one can fire you.
