    Hi-C

I never said people ONLY listen cause he has money. He has relevance because he is an artist and has fans and is given a platform because of all of those things.

He is speaking after the fact. Eventually people stop being popular, it is just how it goes. Because of that, he is tied to his artistry. If he flops and loses fans, he no longer has a voice. He's tryna make it so that no matter what, people HAVE to listen because he has money, which is his main point. It's a lot harder to silence a billionaire than it is an artist.

Shouldn't have said "only", but how many of us do you legitimately think are listening to Kanye because he has money? We listen to him because he's entertaining.

He has relevance and fans because of his art, not his money.

Obviously people stop being popular, but that's already been happening yet it never stopped him from having his voice.

You really saying "if he flops and loses fans, he no longer has a voice", yet he doesn't sell close to as much as he used to yet he STILL has his voice? By all means bruh, tell me im wrong here.

We don't HAVE to listen to him just because he has money
Niggas was already listening to him BEFORE he had money. His past actions are already proving his statements wrong. And Kanye being a billionaire doesn't make him any less harder to silence when he uses his voice on platforms that he doesn't actually own. And did I miss something or did Kanye just suddenly cease being an artist when be became a billionaire because last time I checked he was still and artist lol.

The issue with Kanye is he consistently does dumb s*** that pisses people off which causes them to make some statements. Killer Mike is politically active and has a voice. KRS One has been doing this for years you just dont hear about it cause 99 percent of kanye fans under the age of 30 dont even know who krs one is. Chuck D. The list goes on. Most of them do it without trying to reach headlines either but the people in hip hop that know dont ever try to make it out to be the way kanye is suggesting. Kanye has a tendency to make people not take him serious. I'll be honest, I don't take anything kanye does serious. Even if he does something good. He always comes off as a self serving narcissist which is what Charlemagne said he evolved into and I agree. T.I. is no longer relevant musically and he has a voice in politics. Hell, Jeezy was talking to Joe Biden. People pay attention to you when you dont have baggage around you to discredit you. It sucks but that's how life works. Your attitude and character matter more than your statements which Kanye doesn't understand at all and honestly, his young ass fans dont because they haven't experienced much in life. Even if Kanye becomes the next steve jobs that doesn't mean people will take him seriously.

bruv u are mentioning killer mike besides ye

the world stop when ye put on a maga cap. killer mikes endless capeing for Bernie didn’t resonate with black community in the slightest.

there are levels to this s***. and ye has and always will be the most influential artist of all time cause he won’t settle for being a music activist

And u said that 99 percent of ye fans dont know those people as if majority of modern day rap fans know those people as well. Just like everyone who was once popular, relevancy fades away. If ye listen to ctg back then and quit yeezy then just like everyone else he would fade away to.

Having a voice isnt enough in this society. People who tend to speak up usually end up blackballed

It’s not about the money. It’s about having & owning the product/entity. The money is just a byproduct of that but not the main point.

Idk man, people hate Jeff Bezos for being rich but order from Amazon literally everyday.

That's what it means to have a voice. Not just saying something and having people listen.

We're talking about direct influence over the world around you.

Nah I get you bro, and I definitely think both serve a purpose. The difference is, how much can you do as someoene like KRS One or Killer Mike. Even TI. Like those dudes have to talk with politicians and try to do small things. At the end of the day, you are going to make more of an impact as a billionaire than a dude who only sticks to activism like a lot of people you mentioned.

I'd argue anyone who is a millionaire is pretty self serving to an extent. It is just Ye never has tried to hide it lol. I don't take everything he says serious either because dude does say a lot of s***.

I guess my question for you is, if you are Ye, what would you do? You said it yourself, he is never taken seriously. Ever. It has been like that since day one and that is pretty well documented. I just think as a black person in America, people aren't going to listen to you until you make them listen, especially if you are as outspoken as Kanye.

Most political change in general is minimal. No billionaire really impacts politics in a significant way. At the same time theres also a possibility kanye means something other than politics but he hasnt told us so theres no way to even discuss kanyes statements since there is no context.

I wouldnt act the way kanye does for starters. You said it yourself about blacks in this country. Funny thing is most people criticizing him right now are in fact black

Lol dude he's married to one of the most successful influencers of our generation and has a billion dollar brand in Yeezy. His sneakers STILL selling like crazy. He singlehandedly brought Adidas back to the mainstream for a few years. Just cause his record about Jesus isn't selling like Graduation did doesn't mean he doesn't have influence in other areas. Also you can't use KTT as a basis. Ofc everyone here gonna listen, we all are fans of his music to some degree.

It isn't about him having a voice, it's about him MAINTAINING a voice. You said it yourself, he doesn't sell nearly as well as he used to yet people still listen. Clearly he has done something right.

You act as if EVERY artist ever who was popular still has the same reach as they used to. How many artists have fallen off and no one gives a f*** what they have to say anymore? I can probably go through every f***ing rapper in the history of the game and pull hundreds of examples. The ones who continue to have a voice are the ones who become bigger than rap. Jay, Puff, Ye, Dre all have voice because (I know this is crazy but hear me out) they all have f***ing STACKS. None of those people are selling like they used to. Not a single one. Tell me how that is possible then

Who is defining what is 'dumb' here?

Kanye's outcomes are proving that he has been above anyone else for quite a while.

The most relevant one is the fact that he built a family with Kim Kardashian. I'm positive that he legit fell in love with the girl but he also fell in love with what they would accomplish and his vision of what is marriage.

Cmon bro you know this is legitimately just wrong dude. We have Donald f***ing Trump as a president in the United States. We had Mike Bloomberg literally buy his way onto a political stage by dropping half a billi. Politics are absolutely influenced by billionaires lmfao. Corporations and people with immense wealth control almost every facet of politics.

People criticize him about his MAGA takes which rightfully so, and the slavery s***. How you gonna tell a dude who made a billion acting the way he does to stop acting that way lol. Idk bro, like if s*** is working and you are successful in spite of your missteps, I feel like I would keep doing what I have been doing.

You forget, the same loud ass Ye was calling out George Bush. That is the same dude. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't act like he does now.
