Blame society for making them believe that their dark skin isn’t acceptable.
It's a shame
Though I love when the sun turns me black black
Shining like pure carbon
Keita Balde was as black as he looks in op pic? I don't remember him bring that black.
Here's him as a kid
if skin bleaching stems from white washing, what does skin darkening stem from? (spray tanning, etc)
Everyone under the sun has the ability to tan. That said..
Sport tanning, can still be viewed as whitewashing but for a different plant. Whitewashing has little to do with race. When an individual is over hydrated or whitewashed it leads to confusion, anger and headaches.
Confusion = false education.
Headaches = absenteeism from school n work. This leads to depression & anxiety.
Anger. Anger creates hypertension. Black Americans suffer the most from hypertension in the world. That’s a direct reflection of whitewashing.
The only Caucasian Europeans I see that suffer from whitewashing are Trump Supporters & My Italian brothas n sisters. That’s in the form of anger. Lol.
Then there’s Black Face which ofc is directly linked to anger, hatred and confusion. That’s more of what you’re looking for. One has to go to great lengths to darken their skin.

cultural appropriation from latin and african american communities
I'm genuinely curious - I don't agree with bleaching skin either, but why do we look down upon that, and not necessarily other body modifications? Such as body altering surgeries, tattoos etc
Genuinely curious
People do this too…
Keita Balde has always been wildin he had the talent to be a star in Europe hope he gets the help/peace he needs
Blame society for making them believe that their dark skin isn’t acceptable.
That starts at home though. If your parents are white washed or so integrated into Western Ideologies, then they gotta seek The Most High. It’s the only way
cultural appropriation from latin and african american communities
does this mean Keita Balde is culturally appropriating white communities?
It doesn’t really, because people are attracted to different things in other people such as height, weight, hair, eye color, personality etc.
You can look at different civilizations (past or present) and see how their standards of beauty differ from ours or our ancestors.
If we’re being real, Societal beauty standards are really just opinions from the media onto the general public.
i think it's both
individual preferences exist, but so do general universal beauty standards, like youth, symmetry, clear skin, etc
