Kendrick adds Heart 5 to the album

This is a straight up lie. Drake admitted in the More Life interview that Hotline Bling was a throwaway track. The first single for Views was Summer 16 which flopped so he removed it.

Scary Hours 3 debuted at #1/#2/#3 and Drake still didn't add any of those songs to CLB. Same way he didn't add Diplomatic Immunity to Scorpion despite it being a song that peaked at #7 and he didn't add Summer Sixteen to Views despite it peaking at #6.

But when I said the Heart Part 4 didn't sound like DAMN, I got attacked and it got pointed out that one of the beats on the song made it to DAMN, so wasn't that also a direct relation? Why didn't he add that song to DAMN then?

    info on avy ?

Those two songs couldn't be more different from one another. This has always been a very stupid thing to use as a point.

    Still a dumb point.

Callaíta, off Bad Bunny's latest album, was released as a single back in May 2019. It gained over a billion streams and got added to an album he dropped 3 years later. Travis Scott released Butterfly Effect in May 2017 and added it to Astroworld, which dropped in August 2018. The Weeknd released Earned It as a single in December 2014 as part of a movie soundtrack but added it to his solo album that dropped in August 2015. In October 2018, Post Malone released Sunflower as part of a movie soundtrack and added it to his album in December 2019. I could go on and on. Hotline Bling was a solo track Drake dropped that became a hit. Why wouldn't he add it to an album he had coming out soon after that? That's like thinking Cardi B won't be adding WAP & Up to her next album (whenever it drops) when those are both #1 smash hits.

Drake could have easily added What's Next, Wants and Needs and Lemon Pepper Freestyle to CLB when it dropped but he didn't.

The difference is Kendrick/people at his label are tacking this to his album in his third week because they're seeing that the album isn't doing too well.

Mans compared Wants and Needs / Lemon Pepper Freestyle to a pop song that even white people were bumping. The cope here is INSANE

And the point is that s*** was never apart of the album originally lol

How do you know that? Did Drake tell you? He never said God's Plan would be a part of his next album, yet it is the lead single for Scorpion so how is that any different from what he did with Hotline Bling. You're acting like it didn't get pushed on radio and didn't get a music video and wasn't fully treated as a single.

I ain’t even gonna bother with her anymore. Every time she gets proven wrong, she changes the topic and brings up irrelevant scenarios.

“Drake spoke about the connection between the songs in the course of his interview with The FADER—though his comments haven’t been published until now. Responding to a question about a sunnier vibe to some of his summer output—see also “Sweeterman,” another riff on an existing song—he seems to acknowledge that “Hotline Bling” was based on “Cha Cha” and describes the song as a modern-rap equivalent to a dancehall artist recording their own spin on a hot riddim”

It’s stupid but Drake admitted that the connection is there?

    • You know, like in Jamaica, you’ll have a riddim and it’s like, everyone has to do a song on that,” Drake said. “Imagine that in rap, or imagine that in R&B. Imagine if we got one beat and every single person—me, this guy, this guy, all these guys—had to do a song on that one beat. So sometimes I’ll pick a beat that’s a bit, like, sunnier, I guess is the word you used, than usual, and I just try my hand at it. And that’s kind of what ‘Hotline Bling’ was. And I loved it. It’s cool. I’ve been excited by that sort of creative process.”*

Drake said “this is the first single from views from the 6” and then played Summer 16 6x in a row on OVO sound radio. I was there.

It was a promotional single, not a lead single. There's a difference. For example, The Heart Part 5 is a promotional single. A low-stakes single you drop preceding the release of an album. Artists do it all the time.
