"OK everyone, take a breath. Give yourself time to recover from the Great Drake Flood we've experienced today, from his Meek Mill diss track "Charged Up" to the Bay-indebted "Right Hand." Ready? Here's his remix of "Cha Cha" the calling card of Viriginia rapper D.R.A.M., newly re-titled "Hotline Bling." It's classic Drake all the way, lovesick and not willing to admit that the girl who used to make his phone's hotline blink may have moved on. Listen below."

Had to step out right quick, but I had already spoken to my mans who works for EMPIRE, same distribution company / label that worked with Dolph (RIP) and a bunch of other artists, this is a literal quote from him

"100% if you have a song with 100M streams then drop an album with that song included your album starts off with 100M streams. The song is a part of a larger project, that's how it's always been"

Yeah Hotline Bling was out for almost a year as a loosie then retroactively added to Views for fw that auto pushed it to 1mill

    I forgot about that

    google.com/amp/s/www.stereogum.com/1875342/drake-sold-1-2m-copies-of-views-only-thanks-to-old-hotline-bling-streams/columns/sounding-board/amp

    google.com/amp/s/www.thefader.com/2016/04/28/hotline-bling-drakes-views-platinum/amp

    howlandechoes.com/2016/05/drake-adding-hotline-bling-views-business-move

Its not the exact same thing but similar idea, add a song that wasnt originally planned for the album that is already doing well to boost numbers. Just that Kendrick didnt it do it his first week.

Hotline Bling & even more egregiously with TLOP kinda kicked that whole thing off such as Migos, Future etc. to today.

Bro Drake himself called the song a “riddim” of cha cha. What is there to argue about. It was cha cha remix at first. Everyone knows this

    They didn’t retroactively add anything

It was always a deluxe song for streaming

    When your shift end?

Already over tbh. We switched to “read-only” fridays and moved our backlog grooming meetings to Thursday.

Had to wake up early to fix an issue one of the devs was having on our Spain team, I think they messed up setting up Jenkins bc the pipeline was throwing an error saying it couldnt hit the docker daemon when trying to build an image.
