If sales dont matter don’t engage in sales conversations and only focus on the music.
Sales don’t determine quality whatsoever, but that doesn’t mean sales are a thing people can’t a***yze and discuss especially people who are interested in the business of music. If sales dont matter then don’t engage in sales arguments ever and strictly stick to quality
I think both sides get them conflicted like its one argument when they are completely different arguments
They don't matter or I shouldn't matter unless you getting something from it.
But again the issue was never whether sales matter but the use of it to confirm subjective statements
"Mr.morale sucked" how? It sold less

I’m more so talking about back in 2022 I wish fans of the album woulda just stood on their argument instead of backing down
If you’re gonna engage then engage. Mr Morale literally did good when it comes to sales, I feel like a lot of Kendrick fans on here let Drake stans gaslight them into acting like the album did horribly when it didn’t. It did just as well as Off Season and nobody calls that a flop, it always was a fake narrative
Oh fair, yeah i mean some kendrick fans did also put the album on very high expectations in terms of sales. Had people thinking it would sell 1M first week cos he hasnt released in 5 years
To be fair, that did open it up to get bantered but i genuinely dont follow sales patterns so my enjoyment of the album has never changed, and i dont think many kendrick fans actually think morale flopped on here in hindsight anyway

And yes that’s what I’m saying, people get it f***ed up thinking sales and quality correlate. It’s 2 different conversations
I think it’s fine to discuss sales, but I just think people need to keep it factual when they do, the quality of an album is completely subjective and sales shouldn’t be used to an argument for that. That’s why I’m saying if you’re gonna discuss sales then discuss sales, if you don’t care about sales then don’t spend all day arguing in the sales thread
