Kendrick flopping is a lot due to his presence but also I do genuinely believe it's also because barely anyone under the age of 18 is into him, they were 13 when DAMN came out.

I bet for the average 16 year old right now Kendrick isn't even a top 10 listened to artist.

it's actually sad honestly, artists can't take more than even 2 years off now

  • Jack Harlow should rename that record “Mysales Down” ft. Housepapi.

Kendrick stans finally showing that flop cut deep.

Kendrick numbers are indicative of his hold on the hip hop space.

HN are indicative of drake trying a whole new genre and not using an album roll out.

    5 years of anticipation.

Cole selling near the same with 12 tracks without starving fans for 5 years>>>

Yep, people have tuned Kendrick out. Tried to tell ‘em that going ghost for so long would hurt more than help. They waited 5 years just to their man to flop. You can’t tell me they don’t need some type of therapy.

That and he also never streamed that well in the past. He actually outstreamed DAMN with Mr Morale. The game has changed so much since 2017 in terms of percentage is streams making up total sales.

Yup. That 5 year window from either entering HS or starting college shapes your listening so much and Kendrick missed out on that entire demo.

yeah it's the same with Jay Z and s*** even Beyonce at this point. Most girls under 21 will take Ariana Grande over Beyonce. S*** a lot of them would probably take Olivia Rodrigo over Beyonce

One of the weirdest careers for a rapper at his level tbh. I ain’t mad at it cause he’s dropped some great music but I hope he becomes more of a presence in the game now

Kanye might be the sales goat. Doesn’t matter what genre he explores, he sells well.

JIK and 808 both had great first weeks.

You cant compare sales from 808s era to today, makes no sense. JIK was bundled.

But anyone saying this isn't arguing in good faith, so good day buddy

The convos really went from Kendrick will outsell CLB / Do a mil first week because of the 5 year antipation to Kendricks album just about outsold Drake's surprise Dance album lmao

Future been outselling Dot week to week too.

They not gonna talk about future 🤣🤣

Yeah. Good album but I’ve seen a few niggas try and put it up there w that Bad Bunny album lol.

I’ve also seen a few people in the album thread doing field reports on some “just got word back from my friend they heard the album outside tonight”

Drake fans were trying to be racist and deny Bad Bunny his rising fame when the album dropped

Nah Kanye fans just support good music. They don’t pigeon hole him into a box musically. So when he ventures out and it’s good, they support it.

    808s did 450
    MBDTF did 490

Which were both over 10 years ago, when sales were very very very different than today

Just makes no sense to compare sales from that era to sales of today

I’m comparing the drop in sales from Kanye vs Kanye. That’s a fair comparison. His fan base wasn’t bothered by the genre change. Drakes fan base was.
