    Something I’ve been thinking is

Unless you’re one of them people who takes sales way too seriously and treats music like a game

    Bundles are actually good

People buy merch and artists get an album sale

Stans who cried about it kinda ruined that s*** for everyone

They never should've gotten rid of them.

That was the only way to get decent merch for big artists

I’m comparing the drop in sales from Kanye vs Kanye. That’s a fair comparison. His fan base wasn’t bothered by the genre change. Drakes fan base was.

I guess, but MBDTF was one of the most anticipated albums of all time and had a huge GOOD Friday rollout. Sales from Graduation to 808s literally halved from 957K to 450K, so no they weren't checking out 808s like his previous rap albums. Grad almost outsold 808s first week on the first day.

Its mostly the "only rap" fans, not Drake fans, that aren't feeling HNVM.

Kendrick flopping is a lot due to his presence but also I do genuinely believe it's also because barely anyone under the age of 18 is into him, they were 13 when DAMN came out.

I bet for the average 16 year old right now Kendrick isn't even a top 10 listened to artist.

it's actually sad honestly, artists can't take more than even 2 years off now

Why would they listen to kendrick when yeat exists.

The convos really went from Kendrick will outsell CLB / Do a mil first week because of the 5 year antipation to Kendricks album just about outsold Drake's surprise Dance album lmao

Future been outselling Dot week to week too.

These dudes hurt so bad that Drake been on top for so long . He’s still gonna gonna get a number 1 album and probably number 1 song from this project but because he didn’t sell 600k fw it’s a flop

Selling less than 600k isn’t a flop guys. Couldn’t tell earlier in this thread. At least we know now.

Crazy how history repeats itself, HN is getting the exact same treatment 808s did

Surprise Album is a nice cope but doesn’t explain why the streams dropped 80% over the next week.

The dance album narrative doesn’t explain why the atrocious broadway skit We Cry Together outstreamed 11/14 songs on the album so far.

Its actually pretty simple. Drake dropped an album ‘the public’ doesn’t like and flopped hard.

Yet people have been praising Jimmy Cooks and Sticky, pretty obvious rap dominates charting and not house music.

Deranged Drake stans have been telling us for months that Kendrick’s low album sales were actually indicative of the quality of the music.

They’re gonna have a hard time explaining their way outta this one
