When i see what songs charting on spotify on their top 50 i get why sales dont matter anymore.

There's always trash songs on that list , probably 14year olds pumping the sales game these days.

F***ing "super gremlin" by kodak was no1 at some point , cant trust a music taste like that , couldnt be me

So yeah , grammies do matter .
At least i know grown people dictating who's wining and not some teenagers who listen to these durks kodaks and tjay's

That’s exactly what it is. Ppl listen to Drake cause he makes surface level music & it’s easy for casual music listeners to vibe to

I think Drake has a few great albums but his creativity is nowhere near the level of Kendrick’s

Imagine releasing an album that's supposedly SO GOOD that people listen to it less and less as time passes? What does that mean?

That's literally every album stupid b****

N95 by Kendrick is currently #1 on Spotify. Can't trust music taste like that. Couldn't be me.

No but Kendrick while established isn't a hittmaker like Drake. Not everyone is gonna wanna return to songs like We Cry Together and that's fine. Others do

Eminem and Dr Dre made We Cry Together work in 1999, Guilty Consciense still sounds great in 2022 even if the subject matter is kinda off. Maybe Kendrick isnt as elite as yall made him out to be

And YES, in music, sales, ESPECIALLY sales over a long period of time, INDICATES QUALITY OR AT LEAST THE PERCEPTION OF IT. Debate with your drunk uncle.

Common sense dictates that nobody keeps streaming an album day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year if they honestly believe the songs on said album to be bad. I'm not playing a song I think is wack over and over so y'all's argument that Drake is making the worst music on the planet but is still doing the biggest numbers for 13 years running now is and has always been stupid.

According to some of you, Drake hasn't made a good song in 7 years but yet people are still listening to his music more than the music of the niggas y'all claim are making better music so who is lying?

    This 👏🏾👏🏾

Kendrick Stans have a hard time swallowing this truth.

The fact that Drake is still producing highly consumed quality music for this long has a lot to do with how great the music is.

No gimmicks, no fake wokeness, no deep messages, just fantastic music that massive amounts of people can enjoy throughout their days every year.

Kendrick’s current mediocre performance just reaffirms that his music doesn’t touch people the way he thinks it does, nor has it grabbed people for a fraction as long as Drake’s music has.

Bruh no the f*** it wasn’t considered timeless classics at the time bro.

Yes cole and Drake was above Kenny due to the mixtape work. Classic mixtapes during the mixtape era. Great.

But then niggas graduated into the big leagues. Drake graduated first. And his albums was good but not considered classics at the time. Have no clue why ya lying about this. Cole graduated and his first album was mid. Kenny graduated and dropped an undisputed universal classic and that set him apart at that time. He pulled it off.

My man, TML and SFG are classics and TC is THE universal classic of the time. How old were you fam? TC was peak Drake era. Like he was probably his most quoted by celebs and everyday people, his music was everywhere and the videos were lit too.

Yeah I think it has the most single potential on the album.

its sad how the man that used to make songs like BDKMV, ADHD, Swimming Pools and Alright hit the charts now has to resort to Baby Keem type flows and get renegaded by Kodak Black to make some mainstream noise. He even recruited one of Drake's day one producers for that one

It's totally fine to prefer more popular music. But you gotta let go of your reverse snobbery that people only like less popular stuff because they're elitists

The absolute worst part of the disgusting d***-riding that the industry and fans do for Kendrick is that his music isn't nearly as deep or thought-provoking as they think. It just sucks on most days lmao.

Aside from the numbers - in terms of streams - I want people to acknowledge the gadam discography this man has put out there. How many songs has he made in this decade run? He's literally lapped the legends at this point.

Like how MANY top 100 songs do you want? Drake should have a damn share in Billboard the company at this stage.

One of the reasons GKMC will always be my favorite Kendrick album. The potential he showed on that album was mind-boggling. So many timeless songs on that s*** and now if he wants to make a hit, he has to make bottom of the barrel trash like Humble or feature on a pop song by a white singer or use one of Baby Keem's irritating flows. It's really amazing how far off he's fallen in that regard.
