The delusion in the Kendrick album thread is honestly disturbing. They are pretending that this is a CLASSIC classic and I don't even think they are joking, they believe that s***

people are allowed to like different things than you. i found the album pretty boring for the most part but i respect where he went with it and i'm sure a lot of other people enjoy that kind of mellow introspection. you would probably enjoy it if drake released an album full of songs like look what you've done and the ride even if it didn't have the replay value of his other albums.

Different eras , streaming changed the game .
Drake's a jew he knows how to make money so he makes the right music for sales.
Im a jew myself , not racist lol

Streaming, if anything, is more fair. Because you don't get a stream unless it actually streams. You need like 1500 streams for an album sale. You won't listen to 95% of your albums that many times yet you'd buy a CD in the 90s for $20 easy. Streams benefit because they'll always count and keep an accurate count.

But it doesn't matter, for their time they were popular and made great music. All the best artists chart - even Kendrick when he gets it right.

Crazy part is even cole said this lmao.
He said people in the industry wanted him to go at drake and he wasn’t rocking with that

But some people in here think I just pulled it out of my ass. What do they think that line on Middle Child was about?

Kendrick's music will always get play into the future and be even studied in schools

    but ok

    Copium

Hip-hop in general will be studied for music theory /business purposes yes.

To say Kendrick’s music will be singled out for its brilliance is pretentious mud.

It will be studied just as much as any quality hip-hop artist à la Jay, Drake, Nas, Pac, Cole, Em, Dre etc. Anyone whose music represented a generation.

Real Good music usually dont chart well . Basic trap songs with dumb lyrics are the ones to chart these days.
And drake loves to make that type of songs.
Probably because the only thing he have against real artists is sales.

    This post is racially motivated
You calling music made by artists from the streets stupid

Illmatic took 10 years to go platinum. Best hip hop album of all time

Illmatic came at a time when Hip Hop was in the relative backwater of music at the time. It took all the way until the 00s for hip hop artists to do big numbers like the Pop or Rock acts of the time.

So, no, your example doesn't relate. Kendrick is literally in the peak era to be a Rapper.

Drake got the sales , kendrick got grammies and great reviews .

And probably will tie jay and ye with the grammies at some point.

Honestly ill never understand how drake is selling so much these days , thats weird af for me.

Lmao the Grammys mean nothing as everyone picks and chooses when they matter, they only use the Grammys to fit a narrative

What you talking about, biggie, big daddy kane, run dmc, beastie boys, ll cool j, dr dre, and a few years later pac, outkast, jay z all were much bigger than illmatic nas. There's a reason nas tried to sell out with nastraramus and i am and that was cause he wasnt selling compared to other rappers

Erm, you've mixed a lot of artists in there but 95% of them weren't doing big numbers by the early 90s. That's just a fact. Maybe Hammer or Vanilla Ice or something.

Well we are all free to form our own opinion but when everyone disagrees with one particular statement then it points toward one group having delusion thoughts. I've seen so many trustworthy and non-biased KTT users say that this album isn't a classic, heck a lot even think it's mid. But whenever I stumble across a Kendrick stan they claim this is one of the best albums of all time (they even said this some hours after the album dropped btw).... I know who I would trust more, that's all
