Na man. It was just a different time. Like we weren’t far off from certain artist putting out legit classics. Comparing TC to other classics of the era it didn’t hold up. Therefore, we wasn’t jacking it was a classic. Good album doesn’t mean classic.

With certain artist of that era getting older and Drake having his run you can go back and give him credit for that album if you want because it’s HIS best.

Kenny rightfully had it with GKMC which is fine. Deservedly so. I think Drake had it before GKMC lost it and got it back during IYRTIL era. Future can debatehis claim during this time too. Then Kenny got it back during DAMN era. If you wanna give it back to Drake during that hiatus that’s fine. Then now we’re in this weird era where Drake dropping mid plates but more popular than ever and Kenny just dropped a critically acclaimed album but he not as popular. I think they both showing signs of decline but that’s a whole different debate.

They spend their entire time on the internet s***ting on Drake and everything he's achieved. Every song is wack. Every album is the worst thing ever. He has done nothing in the game. It just goes on and on and they do that expecting people who are Drake fans to never say anything to defend Drake. Or even worse, you'll come on here and see idiots mad that Drake fans praise his commercial achievements like if you're a fan of someone (whether an entertainer or athlete) and they consistently dominate and see success in their field, you're wrong for recognizing that and acknowledging it.

And to make matters worse, they all listen to Drake just as much, if not more than the people they'll tell you are their faves but for some reason there's this weird thing people do where they NEVER want to give Drake his credit for anything. I see the things some people say about Drake online and you'd swear he was some D-list rapper that blew up 3 years ago.

That's why the "I don't hate Drake, I hate his fans" talk is complete bullshit. Y'all have a weird relationship with Drake where y'all listen to his music but never want to give him his just due and you get mad at his fans for trying to correct that. That's all it is at the end of the day.

The rest of CLB is mid and Girls Like Girls is just flat out unlistenable to me. Same with that moaning beat song on Gunna’s tape.
If you read takes like that and hear “every song is wack, every album is wack” then that’s on you bro.

And you’re free to celebrate Drake’s commercial success and nobody cares. Its when y’all come in to hate and celebrate other rappers selling less like you do in this and every thread that it becomes completely intolerable. back in the day nobody really cared about sales like that. if your fav song was on TRL/106 and Park and the radio that was your world. I had no clue back then which songs/albums were going crazy on billboard, only cared about the songs and artists that i liked

Kendrick stans acting holier than thou right now is extremely funny. People have ''forgotten'' how EVERYONE on KTT behaved during CLB release. Every single user registered on KTT spammed ALL threads - CLB related or not - about CLB flopping, being bad, saying the album would come and go in a week, following Drake fans around and harassing them etc.
I've never seen anything like that and it gotta be the lowest point in KTT's history. It was a mentally challenging period but most Drake fans behaved gracefully. Compare that to the scenes we are seeing now where Kendrick stans are ATTACKING everyone who dares to admit that the album didn't match their expectations. Total lack of class.
