I'm on the Hot one hundo, numero uno, this s*** ain't come with a bundle
That's our Papi
What % of Taylor fans buying these vinyls do you think are actually playing them using a record player?
10%? 5%?
Doesn't matter, she's selling music. If I throw an album on streaming and leave the room is it still being counted?
If people cared about streaming charts that much the Rolling Stone one wouldn't have gone defunct.

That's the issue tho lol, the charts completely benefit artists with insane stans that care too much. Of course they're not gonna care about charts that paint their fav in a bad light
people actually outside listening to music don't have time for charts
A sale is a sale
For sure but in that case lets just turn these charts into a songs/albums that generated the most revenue chart then
cause that's really all it's become
Gunna need to drop a remix
A question for the thread
With the success Gunna has had, do y’all think artists and producers will come back around now? With Thug flopping it’s only a matter of time imo.

Not everyone who buys a physical album is a stan. Taylor is an outlier anyway - she practically sold out every stadium in the US twice over, and is about to do SoFi 6 times.
Why blame fans for purchasing albums, music is art and physical media just expands on the art that people have adored for decades. Go back to my first post, artists are lazy and throwing albums onto streaming without even thinking of printing Vinyl or even CD. Their fault.
I wish I had fans as delusional as T swift.
Niggas brought the same album twice lmao

My issue isn't with fans buying 1 pure album, that's normal and those people aren't really stans in my eyes
my issue is with the stans buying loads of different editions of an album. Taylor completely plays into it with a huge amount of editions for every album. Was it Lover that had 8 different physical versions on release day? it's just insane that a stan buying 8 copies counts the same as 12k song streams, or listening to music for 700 hours nonstop

guarantee you she'll put out another edition next year while she is touring internationally

lmfao
and yeah probably
id expect the producers to beg first tho
im a big fan but its crazy how people dont care about how much shes brazenly trying to rip them off. and at the same time she has people who refused to listen to the OG versions of her albums because she doesnt get money for it. like she's one of the richest artists in the world, youre not a bad person for listening to the original versions and not giving her even more money
absolutely ruthless capitalist

They already are constantly changing the rules when it comes to pure sales. Digital single sales from the website no longer count, physicals have to ship first week to count towards first week sales etc.
There's not really a reason for physical sales not to count. People do still play vinyls and CDs. Bundles/box sets a different story.
But I understand if they stop counting digital album sales completely.

You not gon disrespect me & @Echiham

I think producers will come back around cause they can hide behind the scenes and i dont think people really care besides if it was metro.
But artists idk cause once you work with Gunna you would lose ties to Thug, Durk, Lil Baby and idk if its worth it.

You have an issue with that, but ignore all the problems and exploits that come with Streaming.
Make it make sense! I wonder who your favourite artist is.

Because when you buy an album you can play it forever and non of those plays 100 years from now will count. So it's assuming for the life of the CD you play the songs from it ~1500 times (or for a 15 song album 100 times).

In order to buy a physical album you should be forced to disclose your Spotify or Apple Music account and have all of your streams disregarded and removed from the count. No double dipping

What problems/exploits? from what I remember Spotify/AM already don't count ur streams if you just leave a song playing lol
