Because when you buy an album you can play it forever and non of those plays 100 years from now will count. So it's assuming for the life of the CD you play the songs from it ~1500 times (or for a 15 song album 100 times).
Yeah for sure
should just be 700-1000 streams = 1 sale. 1500 is just ridiculously high
I do get what people mean when they want to chart to more accurately measure music consumption. It’s hard to argue that fans buying ten different vinyls because they all have different covers are consuming music. They’re buying something else entirely just in the form of music. But there’s no real solution for this so what can you do.
r/boxoffice is so much simpler than this s***
What problems/exploits? from what I remember Spotify/AM already don't count ur streams if you just leave a song playing lol
That wasn't the example I used. And let's not play dumb, bots and playlist payola are very obvious exploits and I'm sure you know that.

I could see it being 1000 for albums 100 for singles but it would push a lot more singles to diamond status and its already easier for singles to go multiplatinum/diamond now.
Idk tbh

still no proof of bot streams actually being counted. They filter repeat, mute, and vpn streams already.

Lmao how you come up with those numbers
It becomes 700 streams = 1 sale
Oh hell nah it should be 250 streams is 1 sale

Wym no proof.
Streaming services attempt to filter out bots, but they are still a problem.

Uzi officially washed
Uzi is lucky he sold as much as he did honestly. Everyone was saying he fell off in 2021/2022. The 9 track EP he dropped last year sold like 20K. Just Wanna Rock blowing up saved his career

Ice Spice got rap on her back if we're being completely honest.
you’re laughing but uzi’s touring smaller venues and carti just announced he’s doing arenas.

Yeah cause they want to watch the movie again. You ain’t got to buy two albums to hear the music again. There’s no reason to buy two copies of an album for themselves outside of it being a collectible or wall art. And you’re not buying music at that point you’re buying something else.

But I appreciate Taylor and her greatness and want her to be a billionaire
first one doesnt seem too significant honestly considering the long history of UK artists being popular in USA
