Niggas who think it's okay to DM someone on IG over an argument they had about Drake on KTT, mock someone for being evicted just because they said something about Drake and believe Pusha T's parents dying was karma because he dissed Drake are struggling to understand that most people out there just don't care about Drake as much as they do

Of course not all the tickets are $300. The average ticket price is $300 though. Which means thousands of people paid less and thousands of people paid even more.

That’s like saying every single person who attends a basketball or football game is a hardcore sports fan because the average price for an NFL ticket is $115.

That’s not the case, people are just more inclined to spend more money on events like this because they’re just that, events.

Apparently, Drake has been dominating the rap game for 15 years because he doesn't have a core, dedicated following, just casuals that tune into whatever he does because they've got nothing else to do

Man I bet every other artist wishes people listened to them for fun for 15 years

Hardcore fan? Maybe not. But do I think people that attend a basketball or football game are likely to buy merch of the team though? Yeah absolutely. Y'all are the ones saying it doesn't work that way

You gotta explain your reasoning more than "I just don't think"

    yeah yeah yeah i know

You’re turning this convo into something it’s never been.

Nobody said Drake can’t sell shirts or common artist merch. Of course he can.

The original point was that Drake wouldn’t see a massive boost in sales by way of bundles/fan-packs because he does not have the type of fanbase that will buy multiple copies of the same album or buy virtually any product imaginable because his branding is on it.

Artists like Travis and Taylor NEED bundle/physical sales because their first week numbers are dominated by it.

Drake does not NEED them, and if he ever did them it wouldn’t be a case where 75% of his first week sales were from bundles/physicals.

Y’all have to stop thinking that every conversation about Drake on here is an attack on him

Why do Drake stans on this site have such a victim complex?

This was a non-confrontational conversation that is of course getting turned into a dig at Drake by some of y’all

No one's acting like a victim lol, we're just saying what y'all are saying sounds insane, because it is. But of course you wont see it that way

You've literally said you think Carti and Travis have more stans than Drake man, I don't think you realise how insane that is. It's all because you think the only way someone can be a stan is if they spend all day on twitter

Buying four copies and anything he puts out (which btw Travis's fanbase doesn't even do since that $150 briefcase isn't sold out) seems like a shifting of the goalposts a bit. But idk I've been out of the thread for 24 hours now.

If Drake did bundles + physicals with a decent album rollout he'd move 150k-200k units pure...in my opinion

    I never said that.

I said they have more rabid fanbases in general, which is clear and obvious to anyone who’s not biased towards Drake

No ''casual fan'' is supporting someone for 15 straight years. Only a hardcore fan/stan is doing that, even if they don't identify as that specifically. You won't find Drake stans voting for stupid awards or doing the most on Twitter in his name because they're too busy actually supporting his music

All you need to do is look at how he has performed commercially throughout his career to understand that.

Drake's catalog does too much damage every year for anyone to have such a silly take that he doesn't have a hardcore fanbase.

More rabid % wise yeah, but clearly not actual numbers wise

Twitter/reddit would have you believe Carti is one of the biggest artists in the world lmao

He’s not moving 200K+ pure with bundles in 2023 man.

Even in 2018 he didn’t hit 200K+ in pure sales

And that’s exactly what I mean. They’re absolutely rabid and insane for that man, when in reality he’s obviously not bigger than Drake.

Drake doesn’t have a cult following on that level

They don’t even see that they’re agreeing with me

250K for Travis is about 50% of his first week numbers

100K for Drake is 16% of what CLB did first week

The last Drake album to drop with physicals was Nothing Was the Same - 10 years ago.

    He said like 60k max

100k is good for someone who hasn't released a CD or vinyl first week in like 8 years lmao
