Any person outside of KTT would tell you The Weeknd is bigger. In fact, he's the biggest popstar of this decade when it comes to HITS. Songs that REAL PEOPLE know and like. Taylor, of course, sells more albums because her fanbase is bigger and they all buy albums (at least 5 copies each every 6 months). But The Weeknd, along with Dua Lipa, has been the biggest star of this decade in the world.

No wonder, each year since 2020 he has at least one song in the top 10 of biggest songs of the year (IFPI)

    2020: Blinding Lights (#1)
2021: Save Your Tears (#1), Blinding Lights (#5)
    2022: Save Your Tears (#5)
2023: Die For You is predicted for the top 5 (Creepin' might get a spot in the top 10)

But when you realize, he has been a massive hitmaker since he blew up

2015: Earned It, The Hills, Can't Feel My Face
    2016: Starboy
    2017: I Feel It Coming
    2018: Call Out My Name
    2020: Blinding Lights
    2021: Save Your Tears
    2023: Die For You, Creepin'

These are just the main hits

Drake is obviously massive too and he's doing his thing. But currently, Abel is clearly bigger

    Exactly

Compare the Billboard Global Year-End Chart and the Billboard US Year-End Chart for 2022.

On the Global one, which excludes the US, Weeknd came at #3 and Drake was at #16.

On the US chart, Drake came at #2 and Weeknd came at #7.

All we’re saying is that Weeknd is bigger than Drake outside of the US

So, he's the bigger artist than Drake but we have to exclude US/Canada numbers for that to hold true, is that what you're saying?

Billboard Global counts the US too

There’s two, the one doesn’t count it, but the results are borderline identical

The only argument we’ve been making is that he’s bigger outside of the US

Why would you include the US in that argument

Having big singles doesn't translate to you being the biggest artist in the world.

    I'm out this thread tho

  • In The UK:

    The Weeknd:
    Number 1 hits: 1
    Top 10 hits: 15

    Drake:
    Number 1 hits: 6
    Top 10 hits: 42

    Well that's a huge difference.

Such a stupid argument. Y'all are arguing about Abel being bigger than Drake but not globally or in the US, only overseas but still trying to argue that he's bigger overall? Like make it make sense. Y'all really don't got s*** better to do with your time, clearly

    Omg

The ORIGINAL POINT, was that Bad Bunny may not sell crazy in the US with this album, but he’s still gonna do numbers worldwide.

That somehow progressed to US vs. non-US numbers and how some artists are bigger than others outside of the US, like Bad Bunny.

Which led to the point of Weeknd being bigger than Drake outside of the US as another example of that

@Zackbrah was saying if he didn’t do 500K in the US it would be a flop, to which I said that’s a ridiculous prediction for a Spanish-speaking artist on an American chart
