Not fair to Drake
He got a bunch of other smashes
Looney man only has a limited number to stream
No because Drake’s real smashes are all pulling in 200K+ daily streams. The only one in the Top 15 that isn’t, is Too Good
Kanye also hasn't released a new album in a minute. Alot of factors going on. Drake has 4 new projects since Donda if we include CLB. People are probably streaming For All The Dogs now
He went to the most-streamed Kanye album to make an argument to s*** on Drake who outdoes Kanye in the numbers game so effortlessly, it's not even worth discussing

Yeah Drake has been commercially dominant for over 10 years at this point
I think the convo started cause we were comparing GRODT, Views and Grad though
i love the wild statements some people make, like we aint living in 2023 and we cant check the daily, weekly, monthly, yearly streaming data for any given song to see real-time demand
"no one listens to too good in 2023"
a quick look at spotify shows that almost 200,000 people listen to Too Good daily and thats just spotify, factor in Apple Music and every other streaming platform and youtube, Too Good is being streamed around ~400,000-450,000 times every day easily
its funny because In My Feelings gets almost the same daily plays on spotify as Too Good
It’s all relative. Drake has millions upon millions of fans. Even his least popular songs are still gonna rake in tens of thousands of streams per day, that doesn’t make them smash hits
Should we talk about how Donda dropped with 32 songs and stopped charting after just over a year while CLB dropped with 21 songs and has never left the top 100 of the Billboard 200?

The original discussion was Graduation vs. GRODT, someone else brought up Views

Here y’all go man, flipping the whole s*** around

Original convo was which rap album is closer to being the Thriller of rap: Graduation or GRODT.
Then someone said Grad belongs in the Views/C3 tier of classic rather than the GRODT/MMLP tier.
To which I said Graduation belongs in the latter tier because it has a larger number of hits and has stood the test of time better.
This was never about Drake lmao
The sign of someone losing an argument is when they resort to changing the argument to something that has nothing to do with what was originally being argued

We can agree to disagree, but Graduation is absolutely of the same class as C3/Views IMO. And this is proven by the similar sales.
MMLP / GRODT will forever be a tier above. It's like comparing MJ then vs. Drake now. Makes no sense.
Daily streaming numbers for big hits (and old songs who went viral etc.) barely get affected when somebody drops a new album
One Dance gets the same streams since months and it wont change because it's still listed in enough public and also private playlists
Also people are listening to older music more than ever and it will be even bigger in the next years since people discover old songs. Most people don't even check out new albums immediately anymore
Little Bit from Drake went "viral" a few weeks ago and is now getting around 125-150k streams daily on Spotify, before it just got like 15k streams daily

my post wasnt referring to you arguing about hit vs smash hit which has its own points,
it was another poster cliaming no one listens to Too Good in 2023 which is just wild
i get what you mean by "smash" vs "hit" but arguing that is so subjective, like a "smash" to a girl is gonna be different than a "smash" to a dude
like comparing jumpman to Too Good, most dudes would say jumpman was a way bigger hit yet when u check the numbers it doesnt show that

Is David Bowie on this list?
All that crying about how all the singles off Graduation are bigger than anything off Views but Flashing Lights managed to move over 10M units in the US despite dropping in 2007 and yet the other singles off Graduation like Can't Tell Me Nothing and Flashing Lights are nowhere close to doing that
What does that mean, I wonder

I don’t think MMLP belongs in the convo at all and I think Graduation undoubtedly stands next to or above GRODT

They wanna argue semantics in a thread designated for numbers discussions and ignored the numbers I brought up because it didn't align with their feelings

Grad is bigger than Views

I think “no one” is a bit harsh, but it’s definitely not the number of people you would expect to be listening to a smash on the daily.
Like I said before, it’s his only song on Spotify within his Top 15 most streamed songs that’s getting less than 200K daily plays
They wanna argue semantics in a thread designated for numbers discussions and ignored the numbers I brought up because it didn't align with their feelings
Even numbers have context behind them, if they didn’t the point of a numbers thread would be entirely pointless

Spiraling so bad you don’t even know which songs you’re typing anymore, take a break man put the keyboard down

Too Good
Overall 999,626,380 Daily streams 185,155
Too Good isn't that big anymore in 2023. People barely listen to that song right now and thats ok. It still moved a lot in the past. Drake has like 85 songs right now who get more streams daily.
