Kanye scored his first hit in forever and the first thing y'all jumped to say is "oh, look, this Kanye hit is bigger than ALL of Drake's hits this decade." A statement that's factually incorrect and just proves y'all are thirsty to talk s*** about Drake's achievements this decade (like there's anyone in rap who comes close to replicating what he's done).

Drake is still scoring some of the biggest hits in rap today. That hasn't changed. A song doesn't have to spend 52 weeks in the top 10 to be a hit. Most of his biggest hits from the 2010s didn't spend that much time in the top 10. Some of them didn't even peak in the top 10. So what's the point in trying to down him by saying "oh, but his hits this decade aren't as big as his hits in the 2010s." He thoroughly dominated that decade and is doing the same this decade. It doesn't matter whether his hits now are as dominant as his hits back then because he's still outdoing everybody.

That's why the whole debate is pointless. Y'all are just mad at his success and the fact that it took Kanye scoring a hit for y'all to start this silly debate, proves that.

You can say this as many times as you want and it still won't be accurate lmao. By EVERY metric, he's had TONS of major hits this decade. Many more hits than any other rap artist. Sorry that it makes you so bitter that you've gotta reach for the stars to try to discredit dude, though.

That’s not what I said. The point is that numbers lie.

Drake is a streaming giant. Every single he’s dropped since 2019 has debuted extremely high because of that. That alone doesn’t mean that those songs were major hits.

When’s the last time a Drake song was truly inescapable?

My own nuanced take on this is that both Drake and Kanye aren't churning out inescapable hits that can compete with pop hits anymore. They used to but they've moved past that.

They still have big hits on a general level but not as big or global as previous hits.

Honestly, Doja Cat's the only rapper churning out megahits these days.

PTTR was the only rap song last year that transcended hip hop and became a global banger than even non-rap fans and people in Asia/Latin America f***ed with.

It's all fine though because Ye and Drake already proved before that they can make megahits. They're both past their primes and just coasting now. Even Eminem is struggling to make smash hits post Godzilla(which has a Juice stimulus).

You can't put Drake in the same boat with Kanye because Drake never stopped scoring hits. He has the most hits this decade and is still the most successful/dominant rap artist. You can't say that about Kanye so they're not the same.
