Now weeks in the top 10 don't matter in the discussions about the biggest hits but that's the exact thing this idiot was using to insist Drake doesn't have any mega hits this decade. Like Drake doesn't have NUMEROUS songs this decade that spent little time in the top 10 but have sold 4-7M units (way more than songs that spent months in the top 10)?

This just needs to be a thread at this point

I’m fully confident that most people on this site would agree with me in thinking that Drake has no true mega hits this decade

    NEW RELEASES: KACEY'S DEEPER DEBUT

With projections from Friday sales and streams, Kacey Musgrave’s sixth album, Deeper Well (Interscope/MCA Nashville) is trending to an opening salvo in the 75-85k range. Deeper Well's big debut will exceed her previous release, Star-Crossed, which debuted with 77k in September 2021. Musgraves is repped by Sandbox Entertainment's Jason Owen.

Meanwhile, our experts have just set down the abacus and predict Ariana Grande, who's managed by Good World’s Brandon Creed, will repeat at #1 with eternal sunshine (Republic), which is projecting to 80-90k after opening last week with over 200k. If Deeper Well overperforms, things would get interesting. Stay tuned…

They didn’t even mention JT. I’m surprised his album is not doing better. His team fumbled this release.

The internet slander might have actually hurt his career. Doesn’t help that his last album was Man Of The Woods. Being away for 6 years is an eternity in this climate too.

He'll be fine. He wasn't gonna make any real money off the album anyways. The real money will come from his sold out arena tour.

I always love it when internet weirdos who hate on people because of stupid reasons like the reason folks online hate JT are made to feel stupid like this.

It's also worth nothing that the tickets for this tour aren't cheap at all, so it's insane that he's already moved this many. His tour will be sold out entirely before it starts, for sure. The new album + the Tiny Desk performance will have people rushing to cop tickets.

This is why y'all will always look like idiots trying to come for Drake's numbers lmao. It never fails.

Ariana's song might remain at #1 for a second week or the Teddy Swims song might rise to #1 next week. Either way, Carnival is ending it's run with a single week at #1 and might not even get to 10 weeks in the top 10 when it's all said and done. Interesting 🤔

And look at how the 4batz Drake remix lasted in the Top 10 for one singular week, I’m sure y’all will add that to his tally of hits this decade though

It's already performed a lot better than any of Drake's remixes ever has so this ain't the drag you think it is lmao.

I swear you said its not about how long it has to last in top 10.

It’s not a science in the way that the bigger the number the bigger the hit. Drake has huge hits that didn’t spend 25 thousand weeks inside the Top 10

except the overarching point being made here is that his “hits” aren’t as impactful as they were in the 2010s, versus saying Drake can’t make anything that charts

interesting the impact metric went out of the window after y’all stopped coping over Carnival but what’s new

Dedication went from calling anyone who doesn’t do anything within the range of Nicki’s numbers a flop, now that Pink Friday is underperforming it’s “relative to the artist”

like i said, genuine scumbag activity lol

that sort of dishonesty where you don’t even have any actual stake in it outside of a parasocial relationship says a lot about your character

First it was "Drake doesn't score mega hits anymore," now it's "Drake's hits aren't as impactful as they used to be"
