Sales numbers mean nothing in 2024. They have changed the weighting for streams so much and will continue to so it's pointless comparing it to past records. That being said she is immensely popular and it's a 31 track album.

that's why a serious case can be made that 2M in 2024 is just as impressive as 3.5M in 2014.
because back then people would still pick up a CD or vinyl in retail stores when they stroll pass them as they do their groceries. nowadays 99% of albums are bought for collecting or stanning purposes. casual listeners would just stream online for free.
for every one person who is still silly enough to purchase physical albums today, at least 3 or 5 wouldve done that in the 2010s.

How’s she desperate , she’s doing her job and utilizing her crazy fans. I wish Drake would utilize his fans with the merch & vinyl trick that her and Travis use .

You really had to be there…
On 18 October 2015, a 30-second clip of "Hello" was played during a commercial break on The X Factor in the United Kingdom. The commercial teased what was then new material, with her vocals accompanied by lyrics on a black screen. Josh Duboff of Vanity Fair wrote that "the Internet collectively lost their minds" after the broadcast of the trailer.
"Hello" was a massive global success, topping the records charts in a record-setting 36 countries, including in the United Kingdom where it became Adele's second chart topper, following "Someone Like You", and had the largest opening week sales in three years. In the United States, "Hello" debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, reigning for ten consecutive weeks while becoming Adele's fourth number-one single on the chart and breaking several records, including becoming the first song to sell over a million digital copies in a week. By the end of 2015, it had sold 12.3 million units globally (combined sales and track-equivalent streams) and was the year's 7th best-selling single while it stands as one of the best-selling digital singles of all-time.
The accompanying music video was directed by Xavier Dolan and co-stars Adele and Tristan Wilds. It broke the Vevo and YouTube records for achieving over 27.7 million views within a 24-hour span, and the record for the shortest time to reach one billion views (87 days) respectively. "Hello" broke the iTunes records for being number 1 in most countries (102 countries).
it's really not that hard to understand. Tour boost, some acclaimed albums, rerecordings being an entire narrative
I get that I just would have figured she would stay in the 700k-900k range she was in for Lover,Folklore, and Evermore, instead she is literally doubling it.

so 31 tracks on streaming should make up the 1.5x reduction of sales today even though you'd need15000 streams or more to equate one CD sale? :
This is like the least liked and least talked about swift album like ever, something fishy goin on
I been saying
S*** wasn’t even trending that crazy last night

reduction?

only thing I seen was her talking about 1800s and racism

the tour made her twice as popular I guess

Even if your remove 1 MILLION from Adele’s debut, it’s still bigger than this TTPD prediction
Adele simply had the world in a chokehold in late 2015
