yes
A lot of artists love #1 albums more than having high first week numbers. most would probably take #1 and 150k over #2 and 175k for example imo.
Probably cause the way a lot of people view chart placements and overlook sales
I reckon that Central Cee ft Lil Baby song is gonna massively outstream that Sexyy Redd ft Drake song first full day, gonna be interesting to see in a few hours
MV has done 4m in a day which is insane, that's more than almost every US rapper does
a boogie used to be a consistent seller
pandemic killed the hype of so many rappers

his music just sounds identical to how it did 6 years ago, i used to love him but I don't see much point in listening to his newer stuff

It's probably a good negotiation tactic for going to labels "I have 3 number one albums I deserve X amount of money upfront"

3.16m first day for BAND4BAND on Spotify
U My Everything didn't even chart (less than 1.3m)
I don't think I've ever seen a Drake ft not debut in the top 200 on Spotify Global 200 before @thegreatdivine have you?

Yeah, a couple of his features have performed poorly upon release.

I don['t even think this is a problem with Drake though it seems people care way less about features now vs a few years ago

drake’s career obviously isn’t over, but he can’t keep acting like he’s not in the hot seat right now
he NEEDS to come back strong with something undeniable. that standard 2020s formula won’t hit the same anymore. and im saying this as someone whose enjoyment of FATD is well-documented

yep thegreatdivine will prob think im dumb for saying this but I really think he'll just slowly become a legacy act if he stays on his current path, not that there's anything wrong with that, he's literally been at the top for like 14 years
his music just sounds identical to how it did 6 years ago, i used to love him but I don't see much point in listening to his newer stuff
I don't think he's ever evolved as an artist which is why he's had the same number of fans/momentum since he first got big
