Jakarta Weeknd stans are diehard you just dont get it

Like yeah they love Weeknd lol

Low IQ Americans being racist once again while Indonesia has a population of 280 million people and like 90% of them are speaking English

  • Sep 19, 2024

Wouldn't be surprised if they think Indonesia is India

  • Sep 19, 2024

The year is 2052. The Weeknd's album stays 10 weeks at #1, he goes on his new stadium tour and has the biggest song of the year

mangotflu: ok but Lil Baby outsold The Weeknd in 2020 and Gunna sold more than Dawn FM in January 2022

I swear you were one of the people saying streaming is s*** for artists due to $ lmao, now you're defending an artist having huge % of their fanbase being in countries that pay like 10% of a US stream

tour ticket prices probably 90% lower there too

For sure in Asia, but clearly Europe is pretty debatable

Ironic btw considering you guys said you'd rather have an audience of 100k people buying ur album for $10 rather than 1million people streaming a 15 song album front to back 10 times

    weeknd

Thank you for proving that The Weeknd is bigger globally and that Drake is really only huge in North America

Ticket prices in Bali and Jakharta for concerts are very similar to states

Actually that proves Drake's bigger than The Weeknd in the UK, and no European cities are on Weeknd's most popular cities.

Drake also debuts higher in almost every europe country & is higher than The weeknd on most artist charts in europe

Even Taylor Swift only has 100k more listeners in London than Drake. Drake's even got 500k more than Ed Sheeran and dude's british lmao.

When did I ever talk about success of the albums lol

After Hours is a more successful album than CLB 100%, in the US + Worldwide, by a huge margin of course

that's not what i'm saying though. i'm saying the best way to measure artists popularity is through first day/week streams/sales. That shows how hungry people are for their music. Mr Morale for example did huge numbers first day/week because he's wildly popular. The album went triple cardboard longterm cause of the contents of the music wasn't replayable enough. But Kendrick is probably the 5th most popular artist in the US/maybe world rn

First week numbers gauge how much hype there is for a specific album, that's it.

But longterm sales are the best way to measure an artist's popularity

Come on man you don't believe that lol. based on that it means Mr Morale isn't a top 20, maybe even top 30 popular artist in the US

Ahh really so every artist who does the superbowl releases a greatest hits?

Can't wait for Kendricks in 6 months!

Show me where I said that?

Another word would be *interest. As huge a star as people love to insist the Weeknd is, the lack of major interest in his music upon release from the GP, even when it's massively promoted, suggests he isn't nearly as huge a star as they believe, at least in the US. His songs also take a long-ass time to register with fans overseas.

I think Dancing in the Flames is his most promoted lead single ever. It's also being promoted as the lead single to his last album as the Weeknd. You really can't escape all the ads and promo spots that have been run for the song, even before it was released officially and yet, it's first-week performance isn't reflecting it's level of promotion.

This is such a stupid and flawed argument. Y'all minds have been brainwashed by first week stats it's sickening

You always post this as some sort of gotcha, without acknowledging the fact that these stats include North America, where we all can admit that Drake is bigger.

When we say "The Weeknd is bigger globally than Drake" we mean in all of the other parts of the world outside of their home countries (US & Canada)

Mr Morale is kendrick's last album lol. I'm pretty sure that there's at least 20 artistrs who sold more than Mr Morale's first 2 year sales in their first 2 years of their most recent album

Lmao fair but The Weeknd's numbers in the UK are embarrassing compared to Drake's tbh, so you guys being so sure about him being bigger than Drake in Europe was just completely wrong

One less popular album does not determine a superstar's overall popularity. Case in point: Honestly, Nevermind
