Tyler is 100% above Cole & Future now, there’s just simply no denying that. I would say above Travis too considering he’s a generational bundler who loses a huge chunk of his sales without that bullshit

this is mad disrespect to Cole tho, i get it cause he's a lame but his next album is gonna sell waaay more than this Tyler project

I completely agree with this. I hate the bundle narrative. It’s not easy to make a sale of a pure copy no matter what you attach to it.

I just don’t understand why someone like Travis gets the label and someone like Tyler doesn’t when they are using most of the same tactics

    i hear u

its 100% bc travis is seen as corporate board room rap and he all but leaned into it with franchise, mcdonalds fortnite deals etc

ur gonna get that kinda backlash when u made one of thr most creative boundary pushing records in an era that largely feels cookie cutter

Tyler's streaming numbers are great, but I feel like the undermining of what Future has accomplished this year alone is so weird

Is it tho? Cole has been gradually losing steam over the years, The Off-Season did 282k first week. Chromakopia doing 250k at the minimum without a full week of tracking is more impressive

    Lmao no it is not

Cole just dropped a surprise project this year and that s*** bricked

He might do a little more with a full week but it won’t be much

the bundles narrative is corny, idc if drake, kendrick, taylor swift, tyler do it, if an artist is selling physical releases, it shows f***ing quality.

quality in the music, marketing, etc

that s*** is needed in music

Yes (unless you’re bundling voice memos lol)

This is exactly what I mean. Tyler is about to do 250K while also using bundles significantly (almost half of the 250K total is bundles) but he doesn’t get the same treatment?

i only push bundles narratives for artists who's first week sales are so grossly overinflated by them

tyler and travis aren't examples of that IMO

    but yeat and now halsey

His album was mostly fueled by physicals so it was always gonna experience a massive second-week drop.

it's really shocking how much his album that released earlier this year isolated his streaming fanbase it seems

he literally did 50% less in streaming sales FW this time around despite selling more

100k test pressing vinyls ready to ship on release day

    • this whole rollout

a lot to study from tyler’s moves when it comes to artists of nearly any stature

Streaming matters because it gives you a good view of how an album will perform long-term. Yes, if you can move vinyls and other forms of physical media then do it so you get as huge of an opening week as possible but if your album isn't being streamed well enough week to week after that, it'll quickly tumble down the charts.

I Never Liked You: 222k first week
We Don’t Trust You: 251k first week
We Still Don’t Trust You: 124.5k first week

again, Tyler doing at least 250k without a full week of tracking is more impressive than those numbers. granted Future doesn’t put as much effort into physicals, but even if he did I still don’t think he’d be getting that much off pure album sales. He’s in the same vein as Drake where they’re both heavy streaming artists but not a whole lot of ppl are going out of their way to cop a physical
