Their ratio of streams to bundles is about the same

Travis still sells like 250K-ish with Utopia without bundles

I really don't know why ppl try to diminish him for leveraging his personal brand with artist merchandise that happens to be amongst the best selling in the industry

no they arent lmao, trav did WAY more

For Utopia, not really. Only thing he did that Travis didn’t was the multiple covers

    Lmao no it is not

Cole just dropped a surprise project this year and that s*** bricked

He might do a little more with a full week but it won’t be much

you just said it yourself, a surprise project lol

very different to an album that has been teased for 5 years now

In my experience it’s usually just Drake fans that care. Nobody else that’s normal really gives s*** about bundles

After Hours did 221M streams first week

    175M in 2016: Impressive

146M with a 6 track surprise drop in 2018: VERY impressive

221M in 2020: Not that impressive at all 😬

tbh i think digital deluxes (which yeat did) are way more cheap of a practice than merchandise bundles

especially if those tracks eventually end up on streaming

Tyler doing 250K with an album he just dropped on a Monday after two weeks of promo is way more impressive than whatever Cole is about to sell with that next album

    In this world bro.

I’m pretty sure there are like 10 artists who have had bigger streaming weeks than that

also considering the fact that MDM did 146M streams as an EP and a surprise drop in 2018 you would expect After Hours to get at least somewhere between 350-400M

he literally had no growth at all in that regard

Most pop artists are not having major debut streaming weeks.

Go look at all of the highest streaming weeks ever.

The only pop artists in the top 25 are Taylor, Morgan, and Post Malone (and SZA if you wanna call her pop).

Huge streaming debuts is something that’s dominated by rap music. The vast majority of the highest streaming weeks ever are rap albums.

Even huge pop albums like thank u, next and Harry’s House only had debut streaming weeks of 307 million and 247 million, respectively

It’s not even that, pop artists just don’t have crazy streaming weeks (in GENERAL, there are still the exceptions like Taylor and Morgan Wallen and such)

The vast majority of highest streaming weeks ever are rap albums, not pop albums, and The Weeknd has been a full fledged pop artist since After Hours.
