It should be noted that the YouTube video for this says “PARTYNEXTDOOR & Drake” and Drake’s Spotify account posted a playlist of all their collabs that is titled “PND & Drake”

Party might receive the lead credit for this album, or he may be the only credited artist because of the UMG lawsuit

Yeah the title has me a little worried that it’s like a short EP or something, hope that’s not the case

They would never tease it this early for being a short EP. I heavily expect 14 or 16 tracks

Do you think that the boost will just magically fully stop after 3 days?

It won’t be enough of a boost to significantly impact a brand new Drake & Party album if it’s already been out for 3 days by the time the D&P album drops

  • Feb 3, 2025

    Also:

    Very strong 3 day start.

If there’s a huge new song that takes off that will be a boost that lasts more than 3 days.

Kendrick can easily have a scenario of like

    80k week before SuperBowl
    200k week of SuperBowl
    100-150k week after

Depending on the rollout and the quality/interest I’m really not entirely sold this collab project will easily do over 150k

Yes, I think the Drake/Party album will easily surpass 100-150K first week, that’s why I said I don’t think a GNX deluxe would affect it that much if it dropped on 2/11

  • Feb 3, 2025
    TheFader

    Nah, it’s a legitimate reason.

A Written Testimony, which is basically an uncredited Jay Z collab album, only sold 31K first week.

ColleGrove, an uncredited Lil Wayne collab album, only sold 53K first week.

Both of those titles would’ve debuted significantly higher if the featured artists received a collab album credit

I'm trolling most of the times here but this is 100% right.

R&B also always sells less because the market is way smaller

At that point he just lost all self awareness and is in his own way because it’s just creating layups for Kendrick

It honestly isn’t smart to release the week after Kendrick with such a discourse that ppl want to see Drake fail

Man, who really cares? He clearly has had Valentine's Day locked in as a release date. Why should he be scared about Kendrick or anyone else potentially blocking him?

I'll be concerned about numbers for the solo album. For this album, I'm just ready for some new Drake music. I already don't see this doing more than 200k first week.

    DiamondsFlooded

the video he just posted to yt has the title as partynextdoor & drake

    instead of drake & partynextdoor

Just peeped that. If that's a workaround to avoid dropping this via UMG then yeah, the album will have terrible first week numbers. In for great music, though!

Because he is literally setting up this entire release being overshadowed by Kendrick drama if it gets blocked. Like it’s just OBJECTIVELY not smart to do that while trying to lay low and move on from it.

If he released it down the line and it performed however, ofcourse it’ll get some discourse and trolling here and there but nothing as purposely sabotaging as being blocked by Kendrick of all people right after Kendrick has a career highlight week and Drake drops his first project post-beef.

For the foreseeable future, people will try to use Kendrick to clown anything Drake does. He was just performing at a Karaoke Bar the other day and folks are using that to act like he doesn't have arena shows lined up and saying stuff like "Kendrick is doing the Super Bowl and he's playing bars". If people wanna clown Drake, they don't need a reason.

You just have to get to a point where all the negative internet chatter about Drake doesn't move you anymore. Everyone should know that the main album everyone is waiting for is his next solo rap project. This is a sidebar project, the same way all his other collab albums have been.

No one can predict whether or not he'll get blocked that day so why bother worrying about that? I'm just glad to be getting new music and you should be too.

I also think he just wants to get this project out the way so he can start prepping to drop his solo rap album and address all the f***shit that's been happening. I won't be surprised if that projects drop by June or even earlier.

Nothing you said goes against what I said: it is inevitable beef drama will continue to be associated with his name for the foreseeable future.

However choosing the one period of 2025 where he will go directly against Kendrick again and get potentially directly overshadowed is BEYOND stupid and at this point encouraging the beef-stain to continue 10x more

It doesn’t really matter if he had the date set one year in advance. For the sake of good PR if he had sense this likely should’ve been moved to another time. A month later even would be fine.

He absolutely learned nothing from the beef if he is just going to purposely set up more Kendrick highlights that he could’ve avoided

Well, fair enough for you think so but regardless, the album will be dropping on the 14th so that's that.

Right and so now the only thing we can do in a chart thread is discuss the chart possibilities.

Drake will possibility set up the biggest chart embarrassment of 2025 if he debuts behind Kendrick with a new album.

Something he could have EASILY avoided by just….not releasing the same exact week Kendrick does SuperBowl, drops physicals, and has a possible deluxe. Any other period. Absolutely any other period.

    You're dragging it.

The Super Bowl is on the 9th. The album drops 5 days later. Regardless of when the album dropped, it was never going to do massive numbers anyways so why are you scared of people using the album's performance to clown Drake? They're gonna do that anyways when it doesn't do 400k first week, whether or not he gets blocked by Kendrick.

I personally don't care to be bothered about whether or not Kendrick blocks him. We don't know how much of a boost the Super Bowl will or won't provide to Kendrick and even then, it'll likely last a couple days and will count for the chart week before Drake's album drops and if he wants to drop a deluxe in the same week as Drake to be petty then so be it. Who cares?

You're here worrying about s*** you can't change either way. I would advise against that but hey, do you.

It’s still in the same calendar week, although not tracking week.

The week in the media will undeniably be Kendrick’s week. The one week of the entire year he is talked about the most.

Like this is just something that anyone with common sense would’ve advised against. If he had managers, an actual relationship with his label, etc. But he still insists on being anti-establishment and running his own show. And so yet again, he is setting himself up to unnecessarily look dumb.

He is purposely putting a new project in a week where his name will already be subject to dismay and second place to someone else’s shine, the same person he needs to be distancing his name from in 2025. You tryna shrug off him being an insanely stupid person instead of questioning why he is hellbent on not seeing he is his own worst enemy.

Next he should go live on Kick during the Superbowl to draw attention away from Kendrick!

I don't even think you are a Drake fan anymore because all you've done the past couple years is s*** on every single thing he does and call him stupid.

In case you haven't noticed, Drake can't do anything to distance himself from Kendrick for the foreseeable future. He announced an Australian tour and they said he's running away to avoid the Super Bowl Halftime Show. He wasn't at the Grammys last night and they made the entire show about s***ting on him. Don't you get it? What's stopping Kendrick from waiting till whenever Drake decides to drop this album in the year to drop his deluxe and step on it?

Why are you here complaining about s*** that we don't even know for sure will happen yet? Why are you letting yourself be more bothered about this than Drake himself? Who gives a f***? Christ, man. I don't know what else you want me to say.

According to you, Drake is a f***ing idiot who can't do anything right then maybe you need to go be a fan of someone who moves as smartly as you'd like, I don't know, man.

Why is the PND x Drake collab not going to do massive numbers? It drops on a holiday, it’s his first album in two years and he’s coming off the biggest rap beef in decades. By all means it should be a success

Yep kendrick whole discography will shoot up because superbowl and he may drop deluxe. Drake doesn't even have physicals or pre-orders for this. He should have waited till late spring.
