Taylor Swift was 15 years into her career when she broke Drake's record.
She only got onto streaming what? 3-4 years ago?

You'll make endless excuses for The Weeknd man

Again, let’s use arguably the biggest artist of all time by raw metrics who literally boosted the economies of multiple cities and nations with her last tour as the standard for all artists, that TOTALLY makes sense

Tyler the Creator is a damn rapper that debuted like 15 years before Chromokopia, never streamed crazy, he's an ant compared to The Weeknd streaming wise. yet his debut was way higher than any weeknd debut ever.

    these excuses are just weird

Tyler is in his commercial peak right now. He really didn’t become a commercial artist until 2017, and even then it’s been a slow buildup for him.

Weeknd torched the mainstream on fire in 2015, came back again in 2016, and then dropped one of the biggest songs of all time in 2020. Acting like he has to out peak and outperform what is clearly his commercial peak is just crazy to me

Hurry Up Tomorrow avg first day streams/track = 2.8m

Chromokopia 6.1m. over double lmao and y'all are saying HUT didn't flop?

s*** streamed like damn Cowboy Carter, an artist which has never been a streaming force

If Drake & Taylor & Bad Bunny & Kendrick & Harry Styles & Travis Scott can hit these crazy numbers, The Weeknd should be able to too. I have no idea how you're still denying that fact

He has the third most streams on Spotify ever and has never debuted with more than 59M in a single day. Cope with that as you will.

Before Bad Bunny, there was not a single latin artist doing numbers in the US. Your logic is incredibly stupid

The album received more streams GLOBALLY in its’ first week than After Hours and Dawn FM, and you’re cherry picking the first day as if that matters at all

If it received less than AH and Dawn on Day 1, but outpaced them both for the first week, what does that tell you?

    Sound it out with me:

If Hurry Up Tomorrow received LESS STREAMS than After Hours and Dawn FM during its’ first day, but finished with MORE STREAMS than those two albums during its’ first week, what does that tell you?

He has the THIRD MOST STREAMS EVER on the platform; literally who cares if he has never debuted with more than 59M?

EDIT: My bad, 4th. But the point still stands

CC did over 300M US streams first week, HUT only 171.5M. She performed surprisingly well on Amazon Music.

Nah chart wise the songs are falling faster than Dawn FM, and way faster than AH. People don't seem to give a f*** about any of the new songs

Maybe Latin America/Asian countries will latch onto something where he'll get $1 per billion streams

Now it’s chart wise. Move the goalposts some more. The album will hit 3 billion streams on Spotify by year’s end

But yet, your stupid ass expects Drake to do just this lmao. Drake broke into the mainstream in 2009 and you're still making posts about how an album released in 2023 and debuting with 400k+ units and 500M+ US streams is some sort of L.

You don't even see how stupid you sound. You insist the Weeknd is the #2 biggest artist in the world but you're here coping for him to not have the expectations that come with that position assigned to him and yet you have loftier expectations for an artist like Drake who you don't believe is bigger than the Weeknd. Make it make sense.
