    And drake dropped CLB last year, while Bad Bunny didn't drop anything

    Spotify is the biggest streaming service on the planet I feel like it's numbers are a bit more important lol

    dominating one platform doesn't make you the biggest artist in the world, this is the same thing yb stans do with youtube

    Drake is much bigger on AM

    Ok when well AM releases their streaming data maybe we can compare. Spotify lets you see the data AND they're a bigger platform than AM, so they are still a very good source

    Halloween Gang

    Lmao cooked him

    Just for clarification, for those who might not known. These is how various countries give out Platinum, Silver & Good certifications based on units moved.
    US:
    Platinum = 1,000,000 units
    Gold = 500,000
    Silver = N/A

    UK:
    Platinum = 600,000 units
    Gold = 400,000 units
    Silver = 200,000 units

    Canada:
    Platinum = 80,000 units
    Gold = 40,000 units

    Australia:
    Platinum = 70,000 units
    Gold = 35,000 units

    Latin America:
    Platinum = 60,000 units
    Gold = 30,000 units

    The certification level of each country is based on how big their music market is. That's why an artist going Platinum in the US is a MUCH BIGGER DEAL than an artist going Platinum anywhere else in the world. That's why US arrists are much bigger.

    For those who wanna dispute what I posted, this is what the IFPI stands for:

    The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is the organisation that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide. It is a non-profit members' organisation registered in Switzerland and founded in Italy in 1933. It operates a secretariat based in London, with regional offices in Brussels, Hong Kong, Miami, Abu Dhabi and Nairobi.

    IFPI publishes three annual top-ten charts: Global Artist, Global Top Digital Single, and Global Top Album.

    Launched in January 2014, the IFPI Global Artist Chart was the first global chart to accurately capture the popularity of artists across streaming channels, alongside digital and physical album and singles sales. The independently verified29 chart includes sales of albums across digital, CD and vinyl formats; singles, both downloaded and physical; and streams across the calendar year. The chart includes all the music of each artist featured, not just one track or album. It uses album equivalent units to combine measurements of downloads, physical sales and streams.

    The Top 10 Global Artist Chart is published each year, with the number-one artist being presented with a physical award, as the Global Recording Artist of the Year. The winners have been: One Direction in 2013, Taylor Swift in 2014, Adele in 2015, Drake in 2016, Ed Sheeran in 2017, Drake in 2018, Swift in 2019 and BTS in 2020 and 2021. _

    They're literally the ones in charge of calculating the biggest songs/albums/artists globally every year.

    They're not more legit than IFPI which tracks streams/sales across every music market in the world before coming up with their lists of the biggest songs/albums/artists every year. They take so much time tabulating the data that their lists don't drop till March the following year lol. Trying to talk down on their data is pointless and foolish. They're as legit as legit gets.

    Spotify is the only streaming platform that drops daily numbers. That doesn't mean you ignore other streaming platforms where other artists are pulling billions of streams every year lmao. Bad Bunny being the most streamed artist on Spotify in 2020/2021 but still missing the top 10 of IFPI's global artist list should tell you all you need to know about how big he really is.

    Bad bunny is on par with drake tbh. He may or may not be bigger globally. Doesn't make a difference to me. If Drake or bad bunny were create a character in a video game they would have 10/10/10 stats on every single category. There both great imagine arguing about this s***.

    This album will score a very huge debut in the US but that still doesn't mean he's nearly as big as Drake.
