That's not true for anything in the streaming era. It all boils down to how many people are actually consuming the music you've put up. At the rate she's going, Billie Eilish might cross 100B streams on Spotify before she ever has up to 100 songs on the platform. That's because her fans stream the hell out of her music.

Yes, and he hasn't made songs like that in almost a decade. All his #1 hits off Scorpion were rap songs. Most of his #1 hits this decade were rap songs. Future can't make rap songs now?

In my Feelings bends genres a bit, but anyway, what I'm getting at is that Drake has built so much goodwill through his pop crossover sensibilities over the years (which is not a bad thing btw) that he can make songs like these shoot straight to #1

More songs always mean more streams for an individual artist. That’s the way streaming works.

Take Ratchet Happy Birthday for example, well considered to be one of Drake’s worst songs. It’s doing 9000 streams a day on Spotify on average right now. That’s 270k streams a month. If it didn’t exist, it would be 270k streams less per month for Drake.

And my point to you is that for the last 5/6 years, he doesn't make songs with such string pop sensibilities anymore and even if does make them, he doesn't push them. That's why 98% of all his hits this decade have been rap songs.
