Genuinely hilarious how this thread just decided that first week sales don’t matter anymore as soon as the guy they don’t like had a better debut sales week than anyone else so far this year
Are you going to cry yourself to sleep about it
Damn the thread is STILL hating on Abel?
You guys know there are other artists right?? The obsession is crazy
every playlist man. industry backing this flop so hard it's insane
“RnB side project”
@op anything on Carti yet?

The hate will never stop as long as mangotflu is here
This stat got me thinking if selling physicals and digital albums is not worth it for artists in the long run. If you buy a digital download, you are probably not going to stream the album anymore.
So while you might get a great first week, in long term you lose a bit of sales
Nope. All sales are good and if you can get them to boost your first week, do so. The only thing is that we're now deep in the streaming and because of that, pure sales are never sustainable. That's why streaming is more important.
So, yes, while you can move massive units in pure sales in your debut week, if your album doesn't stream well in the weeks, months and years to come, none of that will matter.
Weeknd album deadass got 0 2025 songs charting on Spotify Top 200 right now, just an old prerelease single before the album and fader is comparing it to Views/Scorpion dominating with a gazillion hits simultaneously like it’s the better and more impressive outcome lmaoooo
It’s sending me that’s even being framed as a W too. Like how is an entire album coming and going then relying on a pre-release song from last year to keep it afloat a good thing Fader is legit top two delusional users
What's this I'm hearing about Carti bundling duck tape with his album to move units?
edit: its not being sold with CD. but he is also selling a double cup 💀
500 million streams:

Better than I thought
https://twitter.com/hiphopalldayy/status/1901635207230337225Carti of all people's 3rd day is bigger than Drake & Weeknd's 1st days
if you told someone a few years ago that Carti will be outstreaming DRake + The Weeknd globally you'd have been clowned for life
HUT has no legitimate impact, imagine your "last" album bring out of the top 10 in 2 months and only 1 song charting for a global star like the weeknd

You + fader are really celebrating days to 500 million streams now :
Carti of all people's 3rd day is bigger than Drake & Weeknd's 1st days
if you told someone a few years ago that Carti will be outstreaming DRake + The Weeknd globally you'd have been clowned for life
Same honestly but this is the future of rap at this point, young people want rage music
thats less than gnx
less than GNX day 3? Yeah. GNX has way better longevity.
GNX hitting close to 4X plat before end of the year off of 12 songs. He didn't even put NLU on it which most artists would do and would have been easily 5-6X plat in a year.
what a run
NLU really the biggest rap song.
They added that 5 year old Anxiety song to the end of her album lmao
So it can look like the album doing numbers
Sad!
Carti of all people's 3rd day is bigger than Drake & Weeknd's 1st days
