Anyone making those kinda predictions in 2025 for ANYONE not named Taylor Swift is completely misinformed.
From July 2022 to right now, the only artists to clear 500K first week are Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen, and Morgan needed to drop 36 songs to just barely squeak by at 501K.
People making predictions like that just shouldn’t be taken seriously
Frank would maybe do 500k with a long promo and physicals being shipped in the first week but lets be honest, both isn't going to happen
Frank never moved like this and he never will
doechi trash ass the most manufactured "star" ive ever seen
She's definitely not "manufactured." If we're keeping it a 100, her label is doing what they're supposed to do. The play they're currently running for her (the "make an artist appear bigger than they actually are in the hopes that their actual music/selling power eventually matches up to that expectation" play) is one of the oldest industry playbooks. They ran that same play for Cardi B. They've been running that play for Megan Thee Stallion. It ain't nothing new.
I think, with Doechii, it's the first time they're running the play for someone that majority of the culture doesn't f*** with or at least enjoy to some extent and that's why it's so obvious and being called out.
That’s your alt fam stop playing
no alt gang
one day ima get permad by sab cus hes a b**** and thatll be it
Cruel Summer is a #1 that is crossing Diamond
Last album was a dud to casuals, but having a fanbase that large THAT far into your career to make those numbers is unprecedented. That is the point.
20 years ago she woulda been a has been selling 100k if lucky this far into her career
Cruel Summer is a song from 2019 which got viral on TikTok
Tell me a song from the last 5 years
Taylor ain’t even getting radio play these days, it’s all her old s***
Ok and regardless what past pop artist had a fanbase that was still THAT big to make those numbers that late into their career
@bigdog RIP Big Dog
he'll be back in 2 weeks but still RIP
Your gimmick was unfunny as f*** and we all hope you're never coming back
It doesn't really make sense that no album can cross 500k now unless you are Taylor Swift. Something needs to be changed about how these streams are counted

ya u right, i guess it feels manufactured when the music isnt adding up to the label push is all

Em doing numbers rn too, not Taylor numbers but it’s a loyal fan base.
Em had Houdini but that was a small moment

Anti Hero was huge, but that’s not even the point.
If you’re saying her fans are carrying her numbers then I’m pointing out that it’s still unprecented to have a fanbase that big that late into your career.
Niggas in 90s/00s fanbases abandoned them after a few albums.
She still is showing indeed 2010s names have had much more luck with longevity in general

It's not about the streams lmao like 70-80% of her first week numbers are because of physicals

Also Taylor swift is the only music being sold at retail stores lol, the rest of the “target exclusive” or any albums is in the back and you have to ask for it.
No cap, I made a thread about it when I was looking for Insano Vinyl

album equivalent units never made sense to me
we should just count the amount of streams first week and then any pure sales are a separate number
It's not about the streams lmao like 70-80% of her first week numbers are because of physicals
TTPD did 900k in streams first week.

That’s how it should be fr.

kinda crazy when u stop to think about it
1250 plays from a paid service like apple music to count as 1 album sale
for the average listener to an album, they are not getting anywhere close to 1250 total plays
like if the album is 20 songs long, thats ~62 plays per song to = 1250 overall plays
imagine u bump an album with 20 songs 10 times over, thats 200 plays overall, counting for 1/6th of an alubm sale even tho u prob know half the songs memorized after 10 full listens
Anti Hero was huge, but that’s not even the point.

Yeah but you cant compare fanbases and artists from the 80s/90s/00s and even early 10s with today
We had much more artists in the past. Music was also progressing way faster in these decades
Also you're delusional if you think that people don't move on anymore these days, there's still more than enough artists flopping after 2-3 projects
Em doing numbers rn too, not Taylor numbers but it’s a loyal fan base.
Em had Houdini but that was a small moment
And back in the day, he was considered having crazy longevity for having huge numbers a decade into his career.
He dropped Recovery, and Nelly/50/Luda/DMX/etc was all washed af by then.
Now you got even Future & Nicki Minaj still doing huge numbers 10+ years later.
2010s gen got way more longevity in general and that’s not an insult to past generations but showing consumption and public attention span changed
It's not about the streams lmao like 70-80% of her first week numbers are because of physicals
Yeah thats why im saying an individual stream might need to be weighted more or they need to try something else that makes more sense
TTPD did 900k in streams first week.
683k (still crazy number)
Life time ban that GNX will be outsold by Carti lol
He stupid cuz no one was even on that type of timing 😂
LIFETIME???? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Big Dog ⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️
TTPD did 900k in streams first week.
Yeah because of obvious botting from her stans
683k (still crazy number)
Inflated numbers because this album had like 35 tracks
If she's dropping another album with 15-20 tracks she will only do 300-400k in streaming
