    Who did it influence

Yeat, all of Opium, Drake, Travis, Lancey Foux, Youngboy, a bunch of smaller underground artists, etc.

  • The Astroworld take is still insane to me.

Y’all dismissed the bundles for years, cool.

If we look at the streaming numbers he went from 35K with Birds to 267K with ASTROWORLD. 667% increase.

Carti went from 90K with Whole Lotta Red to 284K with MUSIC. 215% increase. MUSIC was only 5 more tracks than WLR, so I’m not hearing the excuse that 5 more songs got him an additional 194K in sales.

Obviously Travis’s will be a bit more substantial because Birds was released right at the beginning of the streaming era, but it’s still a massive jump for both.

How exactly did ASTROWORLD “transcend generations” if y’all have been saying for years that it only crossed 500K because his teenage white fans were buying his merch bundles in bulk?

Drake literally ran to Carti while he was rolling out WLR and ran to Yeat on For All The Dogs, not to mention he had a verse on that Trippie song that sounded straight off of WLR

I knew you would say that.

Just because you don’t know or listen to the numerous artists it influenced, that doesn’t mean the influence didn’t exist

Think it's far too early to judge if the perceived impact of the Carti album but if Carti's main audience/fan base is young white men then it's fair to question if it will have any meaningful lasting impression.

Uzi dropped EA and his last project went plastic first week

They can’t. They never have an answer when you ask this question

    We’re talking about rap albums

You can’t name a more influential 2020s rap album than Whole Lotta Red

The original statement that you laughed at was that WLR is the most influential rap album of the decade
