This is why I can’t take anyone who disputes the botting seriously. It’s like saying 2+2=5. What kinda conversation are we supposed to have when people chose to be that intentionally obtuse
because y'all are dumb as s***
The US Spotify charts perfectly describes what is hot over here right now. People are listening to the KPop Demon Hunter songs, Chappell Roan, Justin Bieber, sombr, Morgan Wallen etc. Some of y'all are just never touching grass at all.

Nobody takes you guys seriously because y’all adored streaming and didn’t complain about bots until Drake lost embarrassingly
Pretty easy to understand

Streams were absolutely real until Drake lost and is slowly losing his big hype (which is pretty normal after being on the top for over a decade)
Drake stans are going to end like Ye stans pretty soon with that type of delusion. I think it's also funny how they just mention Spotify all the time but ignore AM completely since he's still getting the most streams there easily
Do you get the feeling that the industry now sees the billboard chart as a marketing tool rather than a tool to track the hottest songs? I’m starting to think the labels are actually happy with payola heavily impacting the billboard charts so they become a necessary middleman between the artist and fans, especially considering how initially streaming and TikTok was great for independent artists.

No one man has ever been more
Acting like the artists affected of this are on the billboard charts lmao
Most of them aren't even big in the US
Regardless of how many streams are removed, it affects every artist.
What a dumb thing to say.

Your whole existence is useless since you're listening to KPop and Taylor Swift unironically lmao

They think that botting isn't a thing when multiple high-profile artists have made mention of it on songs and in interviews even before the last year.
They think Spotify keeps removing bulk stream totals every month since February for no reason lmao.
Nobody is saying consumption hasn’t changed. But to act like poor songwriting hasn’t been a factor either is preposterous.
Excluding The Subway, how many truly GREAT attempts at hit records can we name that released in 2025?
Wtf is a “great attempt at a hit record”?
You’re trying to use some subjective measure that doesn’t exist. Artists release music and some of it catches on. That’s the science of the industry.
Carti, Travis, Metro, Gunna, Lil Baby, Tyler, etc have just released albums and they had 0 hits combined. Pretty unprecedented and plenty of them have had hits with subpar material so trying to always reduce it to “quality ain’t been good” is a poor argument.
Drake stans are so embarrassing
People have been saying streams are way too easy to fake since forever and now that Drake is flopping they are getting realization’s everyone has already had for ages

Name the songs on those albums that should’ve been hits?
Not EVERY big release is guaranteed a hit record, that’s something that’s been brainwashed upon us by streaming

Nobody said botting ISN’T a thing
What we’re saying is that botting (or the lack thereof) is not the reason the charts are the way they are right now

You saying The Weeknd/Kendrick collabs on Carti’s album were s*** now?

Funny thing is that its been so obvious for a while now. The conversation should be how much botting affects the charts compared to payola, not whether artists are doing it. The latter is like arguing with the crazy homeless man, you end up looking insane yourself doing it

No, maybe I’m misspeaking. When I say these records are not “well written”, I mean in a context that will catch on commercially. There haven’t been many attempts at hit records this year that were well constructed enough to catch on with the masses, if that makes sense. I’m not saying the songs are garbage in a vacuum.
For example, I love every song on the Clipse record, but there’s nothing on there that’s made in a way that would capture the general public and top the charts for weeks.
Or a song like What Did I Miss?, I like the record, but it’s not a good choice for a single

There is quite literally tons of songs released this year that were fine in quality and clearly crafted to resonate with masses.
You trying to pretend 50+ mainstream artists in 2025 have just all released “not good enough songs to be hits” is?…

Okay, so name some?
What does this mean to you?
https://twitter.com/chartdata/status/1907614080564641811OK, but historically, just putting this out there to save an argument later
Kendrick's numbers have never been affected by these purges
You saying The Weeknd/Kendrick collabs on Carti’s album were s*** now?
So it’s either a hit or it’s s***?
Such a shallow way to see music
Okay, so name some?
Are all undeniable attempts at hits and quality wise not anything “bad” to their fan demographic
Even if I didn’t necessarily personally like their releases:
Etc, etc have released entire albums and there is at least 1 single that clearly is designed to be a hit and is easily digestible and not badly received for their own standards.
There has quite literally been tons of new music releases in 2025 that were clearly a standard attempt at a hit with quality that wasn’t worse than the artist’s general standards.

DAISIES is a pretty good attempt too and is doing "well" but yeah I think people are ready for a "new" sound
The fact that KPop Demon Hunters is doing so incredibly well is an indicator of what we can expect in the future

That DtMF was a hit isn't even debatable tbh. Manchild did well but isn't coming close to Espresso but she will have her hits with her new album and with the feature on Taylor Swifts album
If anything I don't understand why people don't see the obvious f***ing big picture with all this beef streams and 'bot like us' comments
This was the BIGGEST story this site has ever seen in its history, and it gathered so much hype even BEFORE may 4th so there's literally no wonder why it got so crazy
The reason kendrick did so much better numbers wise is very simple if you use your brain slightly:
Drake: successful rapper but you'd have to be brain dead not to see that most of his hit success is off the back of his pop focused songs
Kendrick: successful rapper, hit songs almost all sit within the genre of hip hop very comfortably, most of the fanbase would never confuse him with having a pop music side business
Now, think about the context... it's a RAP battle... now if you have someone more famous for their RAP music, than their pop songs, going up against someone who is more famous for their POP songs... then who are the millions of RAP fans going to be tuning into more...

Nokia was tailor-made to be a smash hit. Checks every box but pop radio didn't wanna have anything to do with it and that limited the level of success it had on the charts. Drake drops that song in 2018 and it spends 10+ weeks at #1 easily.

This entire post is stupid because most of Drake's hits are rap songs.
