    They aren’t.

Lose Control is the most faceless song ever and will never be a song anyone thinks of when asked to name the most memorable songs ever.

It is popular for being inoffensive elevator music/waiting room playlist music, not for being uniquely catchy. Those are two different things.

Usher - Yeah, OutKast - Hey Ya, Spice Girls - Wannabe, Carly Rae - Call Me Maybe, In Da Club, etc are examples of huge classics that are known as being universally catchy and “try not to sing along to” type songs.

Nobody is ever putting on Lose Control in a function and everybody of all demographics and generations is screaming out the lyrics lmao.

Did I say it was generational or did I say it was extremely catchy?

A song like Gucci Gang is extremely catchy and it’s absolute garbage

Dude just made that term up to not admit Drake has more rap hits than pop

    ???

Melodic rap is literally a subgenre of rap

And I said it’s not extremely catchy.

Play Lose Control in a room and nobody is bursting out singing along.

The song been on autoplay everywhere and on radio for years straight. Most people know it, however it is not extremely catchy. There is a clear difference.

Okay and I’m just supposed to believe this completely hypothetical scenario you just made up?

“It’s not catchy because if you play it in a room full of people they won’t know it”

    According to… what exactly?

DNA. by Kendrick has 1.3B streams

Drake doesn’t have any hits that are just three minutes of straight bars

His closest thing would be 0 to 100, which has 516M streams

do not disturb literally has more streams ☠️

The point is, drake has far MORE of a pop crossover than kendrick

But they both have huge fanbases

The point is that those fans who listen to pop drake and bang the melodic back catalogue that you ignore when you talk about the streaming totals every month probably didn't really get involved when drake decided to drop entirely rap focused songs against a RAP focused artist with a similar sized fanbase

So when 100% of kendricks casual and serious fans got behind him, about 30 - 40% of drakes fanbase had no horse in the race

    drake still outsells/streams without them.

You can’t read because I in fact said “most people know it” not they won’t know it.

It’s a hit but that’s all it is.

For something to be extremely catchy surely there should be some well known lines, or some type of chorus that grabs everybody immediately when it comes on.

Kendrick actually has people on payroll all over twitter/social media. You should focus on your side being paid first.

Your reading comprehension is horrible. Lots of songs regardless of genre that are extremely catchy tend to have well known lyrics.

A popular pop song does not need well known lyrics to be considered to have a catchy melody. What are you even talking about? There’s plenty of pop songs with generic run of the mill lyrics that get by on their catchy melodies, The Weeknd has several

    Where did I say NEED?

Lose Control has no iconic lines (which yes are VERY common amongst the most catchy pop songs), no iconic chorus, no well known melody.

You play that song and it absolutely is not a highlight song to play during an event. It is simply background music

Another random hypothetical that you just made up

So a song is only catchy now if a random person harmonizes with you if you start singing it in public?

It’s not really hard to answer.

Almost EVERY goat level catchy Pop song actually has at least one line you can sing and everyone immediately catching on.
