its negligent, it creates engagement with niche crowd. If the charts are dropped, there will be minimal impact on the stock price which shows the true impact.

You just made that up so I'll repeat

If the costs weren't justifiable, they'd drop the charts. Clearly that isn't the case.

He's implying that artists are out here botting numbers by millions for "niche engagement"

you are missing the whole point. I am saying spotify itself doesn't need to report it's numbers just like Apple doesn't. That public reporting is for the niche crowd for entertainment.

What artists get with botting is inflated numbers that spotify/apple and other platforms then go on and report through a different mechanism to RIAA/Billboard etc.

Rest of the s*** like KWORB etc is pretty much for the niche crowd because RIAA/Billboard are getting what they want officially through a different mechanism.

they aren't reporting in a timely manner though, s*** lags and something skips days so it's not a priority whatsoever. When the charts are late, stocks see no impact.

If their earnings report/subscriber data is not there or delayed, stocks will drop.

and not justifiable isn't the same as s*** is important. It serves a niche purpose but irrelevant in larger scale of things.

They've been doing charts for a decade now.. a few delays is really not that serious.

Your point is stupid. Spotify cares about profits not "niche entertainment". They are not going to the trouble of reporting and advertising their streaming data for fun. Repeating something that nonsensical doesn't make it close to the truth

They're launching new charts because it's just that important to their ecosystem and advertising

Yeah and it's a very small impact, what will happen if spotify stopped reporting it's charts for a week or have a week delay?

They are about profits and this s*** is nice to have, not a driver. Every company has examples of this. This serves the purpose of engagement which has some value but it's very minimal when it comes to the the main driving forces.

even a month delay is not serious because to a common consumer this s*** doesn't matter, to stakeholders this s*** doesn't matter.

They removed over 30 songs for example love me (1.2 billion streams) is not counted on drakes total right now.

Yes, I understand that. I’m asking rhetorically to the people who genuinely believe Kendrick lost 3B streams overnight. The same thing happened with Kendrick’s song total. Neither of them lost a large number of streams

Wow… Drake’s new single DOG HOUSE fails to make the Global 200 Spotify Chart on its first day of release. It earned 1.13M streams total, and debuts at #73 on the US Chart with 452K streams

That’s 2.67M streams less than the debut of Which One

That’s not Kworb either, these are the official numbers directly from Spotify

They gotta put you on the board making these decisions.

You'll have Spotify at apple music level in months

Drake’s new single DOG HOUSE for his upcoming album Iceman received less opening day Spotify streams in the US (452K) than the Timeless Remix feat. Doechii received back in May of this year (638K)
