When a song has a sung melody with production that mixes genre influences to the point of its primary genre being ambiguous? It’s a pop song.

Traditionally this would be in dance music comprised of a mix of: rock, r&b, funk, disco in whatever variations

Think it comes from his early signature sound incorporating so much singing, with TML and Take Care having a lot of singing on them and tracks that weren’t rapping (Marvin’s Room, the title track). Then he delved into full on pop, and a lot of his later hits that maybe wouldn’t be considered fully pop were fairly poppy (hotline bling aka Drake’s magnum opus don’t ask me why)

But yeah it’s less that it’s an abundance and more that the pop stuff disproportionately makes up his hits
