Drake don’t wanna go album 4 album b****
We buy vinyls on this side
lol do you remember that this partnership just started?
i believe you should shut you f***ing mouth before this first week sale does it for you
He wouldn’t come anywhere near 1M be serious
no where in that post did i say he would hit 1 million
i can see drake doing 600-800k if he is smart but thats the absolute peak

yeah didn't $$$4U have CDs available first week? it only did like 25k pure. adding vinyls to the equation would probably only add on about 40k-60k more units.
Selling 30 diff pre-order variants and telling your fans they’re each limited edition and only available for 48 hours with the purpose of inducing FOMO onto them will result in more repeated purchases than ever before
taylor also has the benefit that her fan base are all wetarded white women (WWW) and will go for stupid s*** like that
i dont see a "smarter" or more sophisticated fanbase doing that

I think he’d do about 200-300K in pure sales right now if he did it right. His fanbase just is not primed to buy physicals and bundles right now. Majority of Drake fans just care about streaming at this moment in time

he just gotta come trim, also i feel like with this whole red button looking deeper s*** his fanbase is on now he can get them to do so. it just has to be taylor esque, signed posters, 24 hour alt versions etc but i know drake has too much pride to do that s***
cds dont hit nearly as hard as vinyls, anytime hes dropped them on drakerelated.com they fly ASAP
im just waiting on nwts
Available for 24 hours. She’s probably gonna do new variants every 24 hours this week

Would make him losing even more embarrassing
Selling out to Bezos just to lose to the mustard nigga
4 more new ones available for 24 hours only
Pathetic.
Pathetic.
look, i know some people would find these efforts to be inorganic or contemptable, but there is nothing "pathetic" about it. this is about getting the all time record. who wouldnt take the shot if you have the chance of getting the all-time record of anything? especially when selling albums are hella harder than back then. if anything, u gotta respek the hustle
Pathetic.
reading that made me feel disgusted. this is what capitalism in music form looks like

She already got the record secured she just milking it lol.
I think there’s definitely a line between reasonably tryna get success and cheapening your art for the primary purpose of success. For each person it’s a different opinion on where that line is drawn though.
Just like some ppl criticize artists doing 40-track albums for numbers
Releasing 40 different physical versions of an album is also open to criticism

I think my biggest question if you’re an artist and selling acoustic and demos of your album, do you actually care about the album?

oh i agree that its very criticism worthy. its just that when people try to use these terms "pathetic" "pitiful" "desperate" or whatever to desribe the whole affair; its obviously not. there is nothing "pathetic" about trying to set the greatest record of all time.

if you have to jump through hoops and use scarcity tactics on your fans to get it, the record loses meaning. its a record for records sake. the music just becomes an afterthought

I think the pathetic part is milking your fanbase to try to get the record instead of just doing it naturally.
The record was set by Adele and all she did to do it was just… drop an album. The thing wasn’t even on streaming man, and she still sold 3.4M first week. That’s commendable.
Taylor doing all this is just a little sad
There isn’t a single rapper who can do 1M+ first week right now, regardless of the tactics used
the streams aren’t high enough to get it there
