It's not that pure sales aren't impressive but it doesn't account for streaming which is more accurate of the culture. We know Taylor Swift and The Beatles fans are buying vinyls so it's not surprising because the average person isn't buying music anymore

The record Bad Bunny broke was overall daily streams by a single act, a record Drake has owned since like 2015 or so. He didn't break the record for most global streams in a single day for an album (a record CLB still holds). Drake could very well break the record Bad Bunny broke this around whenever he drops his next album.

Plus, there are other records like most daily streams for a song (global/US), most daily streams for an album (global/US), most songs with over 100M, 200M, 500M, 1B streams, etc which Bad Bunny is far from owning.

I think the record he broke/set is very impressive but it's a stretch acting like you can just write off every other artist at this point.

i meant only on Spotify, with the records

Yeah, it's a good start. He'll definitely own the entire top 18 at some point later today. Probably by the end of the day.

I think it's good enough. I don't see this album being the kind of people people stream like crazy over an extended period of time.

I was going to increase my projections to 450-500k after I heard he'd be dropping a double album but after hearing the album, I'm sticking to my original 350-400k projection.

If we consider the sound of the album then yeah, I don't see it as being a streaming machine

but we can't ignore the fact that it's Kendrick Lamar and the fact that this is his first album in 5 years

Oh yeah, his first week should be huge regardless. I'm just saying I'm not going to be increasing my projections for the album past what I initially projected, which was 350-400k.
