This an 18 track album. It's gonna do fairly well. It's no stand out bop so that might limit it tho

Spotify crew got work to do
just from what i've seen/heard irl and online, i definitely don't think there's the same normie interest in new kendrick than there was for DAMN.
like with DAMN., it felt like a lot of people who had slept/missed out on kendrick in his ascendancy through gkmc and tpab suddenly wanted a piece of him and you had a lot of interest driven by that. you also had what was a good, radio/club/party friendly track in humble leading the rollout. i dont really think you have either with mr morale so i think the overall numbers will suffer as a result, even if actual hip hop fans are gonna be all over it as the first new kendrick album in so long
TPAB was also not commercially successful, mainstream audiences did not revere it nearly as much as critics did. I think it hurt his momentum going into Damn among general audiences. Humble helped though for sure.

This…doesn’t seem great. Am I wrong?
This…doesn’t seem great. Am I wrong?
it's climbing. These charts take a time to update but the trend is looking good. I think he will have probably debut around 400k.
Yeah, this isn't saying much considering what DAMN did on Spotify and how much those numbers have been surpassed since then.
paid streams are weighted more for billboard
if Billboard is based on revenue that a song brings in, then counting free streams for barely less than paid streams doesn’t make sense
note:
Billboard should be based on listens, not revenue, but since it’s not, at least be consistent

Yeah, Spotify has always published their numbers but no other audio streaming service has so they've always been alone in that.
I'll say that for Apple Music, their charts are rolling charts so numbers technically can't be published. Their charts update dozens of times a day in comparison to Spotify's charts which updates only once a day.
