Kenny just showed Drake who’s on top. That’s what happened.
He indeed did just show Drake that man is still at the top
Only Drake stans are the type to act like 325-350K aren’t great numbers for an album like this. Plus the album is amazing so
I dont think theyre good relative to the artist. 609K to 325-350K a pretty big drop.
Same way 444K to 148K by Weeknd was a big drop. 148K would be great for most other artists, but not Weeknd.
I don't think its as bad as Weeknd's, as the numbers are more than half his previous first week, and obviously times are different so I wasn't thinking he'd do 600K+ anyway (was thinking 400K+) - I think these numbers okay for a studio album from Kendrick
Cope my boy
Only person coping is you lol that espn commercial music not hitting no more
I dont even know why drake stans are using the sales angle, kendrick's album was worse than any of the Drake projects released between 2017-2022, this s*** is skip after skip

If Drake made something like Big Steppers it wouldn’t sell 💯 that’s why he scared to take risks

Streams picked up though plus no legit single
A lot of that drop comes from just changes in the market not necessarily an indicator of popularity changing
I understand this, but then what do they do for refunds?
Let’s say someone buys a physical copy of a CD in a store or on Amazon, and they don’t like it, return it and get a refund. Those sales still count towards the album even though they ended up returning their purchase, it’s not like Billboard retroactively revokes refunded album sales.
It’s very rare that an entire vinyl/CD production for an album will get completely canceled, it’s usually just been delays lately because Covid has slowed up production
Forsure, but i think its a lot less sales that may get returned than like cancelling a whole bunch of first week sales.
Disagree
I think it does have an impact but I think the majority of consumers don’t even put on album on replay
Long term song length has a big impact but I think short term number of tracks is more of a facotr
I think it all boils down to how much the listener enjoys the album. A shorter album works better if the tracks have great replay value because that means it will likely get played more times than an album with more tracks, which in most cases, even if it's enjoyable, will be a lot of work for most people to run back several times a day.
