Views has better songs than those two tho

I don't think any song on views is as interesting or creative as fsmh or 30 hours (maybe hotline bling but that's a bonus track)
It's opinions tho, so it's whatever. The only point I'm making is that fsmh and 30 don't sound like drake songs at all

He went to Wyoming because it’s a beautiful place and property can be bought dirt cheap compared to California

That’s not why he left lmaooooo

No one gets up and says “I’ll just move to Wyoming for this amount of time”

Drake said that pool line and he felt uneasy about it since
    He didn’t like the energy

If drake really influenced fsmh and 30 hours, he wouldn't have released the mid that views was. Also, I've never listened to a song that's anything like 30 hours or fsmh in drake's discography

This is such a weird rebuttal

I’m pretty sure everyone on KTT 1 came to a unanimous decision that 30 hours was and sounded exactly like a Drake song lyrically

    Maybe not production wise

But your personal opinions of Views doesn’t negate the fact that Drake was involved in the creative process of TLOP

If Ye didn’t value Drake’s pen he would’ve never been invited to help craft 30 hours, Yikes & FSMH imo

    Except 40 + Drake’s sound is neo R&B

Ye was recreating 80s synth pop & even called it pop art with 808s

Drake has cited Ye as one of his biggest influencers yes but he’d still be here if Ye never created 808s

Brand New leaked in 2007, Drake’s vulnerable, R&B formula was already in effect before 808s was even thought of

Kanye deserved some credit but if we’re being real it’s mostly R&B artists like Aaliyah we should be crediting for the OVO sound

Idk if you’re African American or grew up with old school R&B lol

    Whats that?

"Before I ever got the chance to meet him, Kanye West shaped a lot of what I do, as far as music goes," Drake told MTV News on Tuesday night before his show at S.O.B.'s. "We always, always, always took the time to listen to Kanye's music and appreciate it beyond. We searched the samples and we find out where his inspiration came from, because he has one of the best ears in music, period. He knows how to recognize great music that's not his. He knows how to utilize great sounds and great music. So before I met him, I had the utmost respect for Kanye West. I'd even go as far as to say he's the most influential person as far as a musician that I'd ever had in my life."

I’m just going by what Drake and 40 have said themselves. F*** whatever you’re talking about

And Drake also stated Aaliyah and his father was his biggest influencers to sing/rapping

Drake had song leaks in 2007 of him singing with 40 on production

I’m not denouncing that Kanye didn’t influence them but he didn’t birth their entire style either

As these formulas existed with 90s R&B

Maybe if you guys took the time to read & reflect before replying there would be this much confusion in the thread

We're talking about songs, not only about lyrics. Drake wouldn't have that beat on any of his albums, he wouldn't have André singing 30 hours as a sample on the second half of the song while having a spoken word interlude. Songwriting isn't just lyrics, song sounds different, that's it.
Same goes with fsmh, that was all ye. And if drake wrote lyrics so be it, song isn't just that, especially since the lyrics are the worst part of the song.

About last part, that doesn't make drake influential to Kanye. It's great they worked together, but that's not influence, that's collaboration.

music is a constant cycle of influence and sharing sounds

no one has "influenced the most artists" not even King Kenny

    the only exception is Tunechi

Since sampling Aaliyah on his debut album ‘Thank Me Later,’ it is evident that Drake is a huge fan. Last year he even wrote a letter to her on the ninth anniversary of her passing. This time around, in light of Aaliyah’s 32nd birthday that just passed, SoulCulture caught up with Drake while he was on tour in Manchester and he reveals what Miss Haughton meant to him and his career:

“ Aaliyah has had probably the most impact on my career “ he states.

I get you’re a Ye stan but you can’t credit him with the R&B infusion in rap

    808s isn’t even R&B

But I guess, you’re being hard headed, I already acknowledged Ye’s influence on Drake and the genre several times in the thread
