    It's cool celebrating him having more success globaly and reach more people i think its really great more people recognize his musical genius

    But some of his fans talking about his numbers more than his music itself

    Its sad because it started after he started doing big numbers and some of them started to sound like drake stans who are not hiphop fans and that is Disgusting

    Are there any Kendrick stans on KTT2 who actually care about numbers outside of humiliating Drake stans?

    most of it is just reflexive meta discussion to “own” drake Stans after the beef

    there were threads on here pre-MMBS comparing Kendrick to Future and saying he fell off, he’s not top 10, DAMN was his peak and a fluke, etc

    and ofc the break in between Push Ups and his response drake stans said he was too scared and drake won

    The retroactive erasing of this, pretending like Drake was destined to lose the beef from the start, or that the numbers talk appeared in a vacuum is funny

    but anyways it ain’t that deep and no one cares

    I think part of it comes from Drake always being the sales and numbers guy but it looks like he’s gonna be dethroned and they’re getting to use the only thing Drake concretely had on lock against him for the first time

    DRAKE has always been a sales and number guy like Jay.

    This sales, hits, and numbers vs integrity and substance debate in rap has been going on forever.

    Jay and Nas represented both sides.
    Just like Drake and Kendrick

    Jay summed it up the debate perfectly on Moment of Clarity about integrity and substance vs popularity and hits. He wanted to be more on some deeper s*** but he chose to go the more commercial route which brought him more $$$
