Fantano does a really bad job of grasping themes and writing in the music he reviews as a whole
He really just talks about aesthetics and styles and very obvious (or conjured up) themes and not how they interact with larger cultures

Yeah, his interpretation of it is off, but that speaks to the quality of the music itself. Someone can miss the point or intent and still dig it.
