I think I thought it would be the tone and on the album because that is the first time Kendrick began the habit of dropping a song that was in no way on the album especially performed live during albium rollout so it is my mistake

Expectation and obligation are two very different things, just speaking generally zooming out from Kendrick. Expectation is a perception. Obligation is a responsibility.
I can see an expectation where a sincere person, maybe even naively, thinks Kendrick is a revolutionist. I personally don’t but I get how a fan or listener can arrive at that expectation.
The other aspect is if he’s capable of it? Of course he is, if he really values to do so. Anyone is really; to whatever capacity is afforded to them. So I just push back on the idea of “just a rapper”. There are people who are “just doctors” or “just teachers” or “just well meaning people” who make the decision to support Palestinian liberation in their fields every day. And that does matter. It does make a difference. Cumulatively.
