Has there been any negative reviews of the song? I am really interested in hearing/reading a negative review.
Fantano review is up, says its very impressive, he's impressed, calls it musically amazing, lyrically brilliant (every f***ing word has a meaning), and the best in the heart series
Rebellious and Margielas'll chip you for designer
Belt buckles and clout, overzealous if prone to violence
Someone can explain me these lines?
But that’s the culture
Crack a bottle
Hard to deal with the pain when ya sober
By tomorrow
We forget the remains and start over
That’s the problem

Dudes with a cause will snatch you for designer while wearing designer. Then brag about it for clout and to prove themselves to the cause

solid track, give it a 7/10. i don't think this was kendrick's best performance with this sort of introspection, how much a dollar costs and kush & Corinthian’s being 10s for a measure
“Desensitized, I vandalized pain, covered up and camouflaged
Get used to hearin' arsenal rain”
Those bars right there are a good example of what I mean when I say I love the word choices Kendrick uses to paint a picture in his verses.
5th listen
Still mid, have yet to hear it at the barbershop
for sure it's too mysterious
“Where the energy is magnified and preserved consciousness is synchronized and made crystal”
Can someone break these line down for me? all I’m getting is a glass metaphor but I can’t grasp it completely genius isn’t helping either

prolly about the creation of art imo
how we put parts of ourselves into the things we care the most to make
then people feel the same as the creator. relatability, connection, etc etc.

(from my understanding as a recent cogs grad w/ focus on ai)
Human consciousness is still a concept has never been proven and there are many theories for its existence. One of those being synchronous brain waves, also known as brain oscillations.
The theory behind the two basically relates brain wave patterns to mental states. One example of said mental state is enlightenment and to reach a state of enlightenment you must first start from the energies within.
Enlightenment is not something that can be rushed, bought, etc. but those who've claimed they've reach it say that it took a lot of self reflection/introspection and lead them to a continuous (crystal) clarity.
"Euphoria is glorified and made His" should be included in this bc it is a continuation of the lyric. Euphoria is sometimes used interchangeably with enlightenment, but is more commonly used as a description of enlightenment
Kendrick has reflected on his internal conflicts as a christian on a few occasions. Because of that and some of the themes I think it's referring to his enlightenment in the form of his relationship with God thru christianity
There are a few things in the song/mv that kinda make me question if he is imitating god, praising god, or labeling these figures in the community as gods (including himself). The biggest thing being the
"I am. All of us."
core belief of humanity in christianity is that we are all made in the likeness of god so i dunno if he's saying that:
idk im tired ill come back to this tomorrow to edit 😂
all in all i think its an overly worded way to say stuff, just makes it more confusing. cool concept to include but feels like its gatekeeping thoughts to those he wants to reach
