If you really think Kendrick was gonna play the same set from 3 years ago for his concerts this year, you are a f***ing goofball
This man was about to drop an album this year for sure
Facts.
But you gotta understand this, the festivals were booked already before the album was even finished, you don't think so? they probably had label deadline that they had to finish the album around that time so they said cool let's book some festivals
Festivals got canceled and everybody's plans got f***ed up so it gave him more time to work on the album
I kind of get what you're saying, but the production that goes into a festival / concert run like Kendricks is a year+ long process. Festivals book headliners years in advance, often times in the contract there's stipulations that the artist will have new music put. Considering Kendrick had dates in June, which is only 3 months after everything got canceled, his album was definitely wrapped up
It's possible that they scrap everything or change things, but considering how big of a production the DAMN. tour was, I can't imagine they do that. I imagine he's just sitting on everything so when it's go time, he can rollout the same music with the same stage production and the same staff and the same music.

you really think that with how calculated Kendrick is, he was running against the clock just for some festival tour dates? he definitely had the album ready, its been 3 years since DAMN and I'm sure he's been working for this album for a longer time
hard
Yeah, there's no need to over-complicate things. Kendrick's album was already done earlier this year, then....BOOM.....the Coronavirus hit and changed everything. That's the reason why we're not listening to a new Kendrick album in our earbuds right now.
No need to make it anymore complex than it is.

Fam he was announced to be performing at Coachella in January 2017 and he was still working on his album one day before it came out
yikes
yall shouldn't even get an album for being like this
period
man gave us TPAB
he can drop whenever he wants, whats the matter with you
It lowkey is tho lol
When you think about Kendrick's music he always talks about his his own life, man doesn't rap just to rap like everybody else
He needs to live life and experience things to be able to put those things in his music
Whatever it is I know he's putting together some life changing s***
Listen man, that works for u, but for me personally the wait has been pretty ridiculous, plenty of artist make they best s*** in short spans of time

Kendrick is not plenty of artists

Then there's other artists out there who will fulfil your needs
The music is only finished once he puts it out to the world and he can't touch it anymore, but he works all the time, the album wasn't finished but they had to finish it around that time because they probably had a deadline from the label and it already has been a long time but now that everything got canceled he got more time to work on it, not a hard concept to grasp.
He was still working on DAMN. one day before it came out to the point where the digital release was different than the CD's, even had shows booked months in advance.

lmao yeah i wasn't feelin the tweet and called out your initial reply but
there's some entitled ass fans in here breh. not a good look
Then there's other artists out there who will fulfil your needs
And I listen to them, But I can still criticize kdot for being ghost
Not sure gonna need to look up some old interviews but I just remember that they said they were working on it until the day it came out
I'm not mad at this. Kendrick solidified man... If anyone can take his time its him. Section 80 is a cult classic, GKMC drew comparisons to Illmatic (ILLMATIC bruh), TPAB is recognized as one of the most culturally important albums in hip-hop history and is cited as the best hip-hop album of the decade just about as often as MBDTF. Damn won a freaking Pulitzer prize for Christ sake. Even UU which is nothing more than a collection of TPAB throwaways that he didn't even bother to title has an 86 on Metacritic. Dude is literally a classic album making machine. He's tapped into something higher than the rest of these guys. Let him take his time.

Criticize an artist for not giving me art whenever I want it brehs
Do you do the same with films and video games or this only applies to music because you got used to artists dropping fast food music every month?
