The lack of quality music since DAMN. dropped has made this wait even harder. There have been some cool albums since then, but very few on that level.

I'm not mad at this. Kendrick solidified man... If anyone can take his time its him. Section 80 is a cult classic, GKMC drew comparisons to Illmatic (ILLMATIC bruh), TPAB is recognized as one of the most culturally important albums in hip-hop history and is cited as the best hip-hop album of the decade just about as often as MBDTF. Damn won a freaking Pulitzer prize for Christ sake. Even UU which is nothing more than a collection of TPAB throwaways that he didn't even bother to title has an 86 on Metacritic. Dude is literally a classic album making machine. He's tapped into something higher than the rest of these guys. Let him take his time.

    very well said

Yes but I don't think that he needs time, We all know that the album was planned for Summer 2020 so the delay is a marketing decision and we still should respect this approach. If you think about it he is on top of the scene and never compromised his vision and values. In comparison, there are other very good musicians and rappers, who don't get the attention that they deserver It is a business and when you are the goose with the golden eggs it is important to act strategically. So it is not about him needing time, He can drop 2 albums per year and they will be good, probably not top 10 of all time classics but better than the rest.

I know it's hard to say since the album isn't out yet, but do you think this new album will be Kendrick's best yet? His second best?

I think it will be as polarizing as TPAB and it will be as good as his best.

I would go as far and say his most creative.

Kendrick album wasn't finished then I suppose, he also refused to be in Preemo album. I guess it wouldn't hurt now if Kendrick will remix a song from this Reason project.

I don't even care at this point, it will come when it comes
Crying about it online not gonna make him finish the album faster
Got tons of music from him to hold me until it comes, the wait is gonna be worth it so whatever

Here are some things to keep in mind that should ease the wait and know Kendrick is about to do some interesting, creative and worthwhile s***.

    1. Kendrick isn’t an avid reader but he has started reading more it seems.

    • he told charlamagne that he doesn’t read a lot he just speaks to people. That might’ve changed in the sense where he started doing more reading.
    • @coat had a post about him congratulating some author for some book that he is finished reading.
    • also we know he has been atleast listening/reading Eckhard Tolle

    2. He not only hasn’t released music but he hasn’t allowed any one to release features. There was speculation that he was on Roddy and that was the song that didnt come out. My guess is that Kendrick is strategically doing this because he wants the first time we hear him again to be on his terms.

    3. It’s kendrick mehn. The dude that gave us GKmC, DAMN. And TPAB has time to create music. He is a new dad and just lived through the same 2020 that we all did. Whenever we get what he gives us, it will be next level. He doesn’t have to perform or get ready for a tour. His sole focus and his friends who help him make these grandiose projects are all free and have time to create.

Whenever we get the album, everything from the cover art to the concept to the feature to the title will be next level.
