Y'all really trying to "the Big Day" this album, wow...
It’s not working, that’s why these threads generate so many pages.
If everyone agreed, it’d be 3-4 pages max.
Mr. Morale didn’t get half the negative reception that KTT tries to convince everyone it did
Kendrick never dares to go in his true direction he always wants to include a bop or two that are awkwardly misplaced and significantly weaker than the rest of the album, thematically (backstreet freestyle, king kunta, Humble, Count me Out...)
On 4YEO Cole dared. Resulting in what I've always wanted and expected from Kendrick, a cohesive beautiful album. Kendrick has the potential to drop something to the level of a Lupe or a Nas that single s*** is beneath him so why does he keep doing that? TDE? Fear of losing relevance?
No way you included Count Me Out lmao
Yeah it was definitely divisive, but the overall reception skewed positive.
It’s just the weirdo Drake stans on here trying to pit two legends against each other for no reason whatsoever
Mr. Morale and Her Loss both got great receptions and deservedly so
Ye this post on point. i was confused when i came on ktt and saw niggas hating on mr. morale but u right, its mainly coming from that one stanbase. every1 else respects it from what i seen.
It's interesting how stating my opinion as someone who doesn't even hate the album but just thinks it's too long is translated as "everyone tries to demonize the album" even though I clarified my point on every page of this thread
If kendrick doesn't wanna be your savior why y'all gotta be martyrs
Y'all really trying to "the Big Day" this album, wow...
Absolutely not I just want Kendrick to drop a technical album to close 2022 why is that so polarizing
No way you included Count Me Out lmao
Top 5 tracks on the album
MMATBS didn’t get a super negative reaction tho
Y’all acting like that s*** was revival level bad or something
Most people liked the album
Just call me a dumbass no need to go further.
I'm aware that Cole made commercial sound record but I didn't feel it was a compromise, whereas when it comes to Kendrick I always feel like it is a compromise, if not thematically then sonically. That's why I loved Untitled Un mastered so much, I'd take 15 more of these from Kendrick
You didn't feel Sideline Story was a commercial compromise? It's why Let Nas Down exists...

i meant in the context of 4YEO of course I was trying to say Cole outgrew it somehow

the highs were so high tbh
Stupid ass thread op should be castrated
People as stupid as op have full voting rights and the right to instacart a machine gun
no
it's a theoretically dense and deep album with alot of content a lot to say. meticulously crafted and well-put together
but it's not a perfect album and we gonna stop this narrative right here that TPAB is the end all be all of music.
It's OK to not like TPAB, but honestly where are the flaws
Same tbh was a lot better than Revival at least
it had some dope tracks
Chloraspetic remix was hard too
