Singles after the albums count towards the numerical value but anything before the album goes on sale, just contributes to the certification and that individual song’s numbers

Correct. So all the numbers it’s racking up now won’t get counted in the first week’s number, only the numbers from that first week of sales are counted.
But it will go instantly platinum (the album) because the single was so big.
