Are we undersellimg what NLU is doing to not seem like we are overreacting? I have legit never heard a song this much outside.
S*** get played as much in the bay rn as all the classics, its crazy
How do album sales work with regards to songs that have been out for a while
I was thinking if Kendrick released an album and added this as a bonus track or the last track would all the streams of this song count for the sales ? What are the rules now
Did Hotline Bling get this much play outside? I remember that one being everywhere at the time
Everytime I walked into foot locker or some other retail store that s*** was playing
this felt like In My Feelings in the first month but surpassed it by now

I don’t remember the last time a rap song was so loved in the mainstream and by hardcore rap fans like NLU has
S*** is unreal
It kinda would overshadow the album cause its most likely not gonna be on it.
Ain’t no way he doesn’t put it on there

Don’t count for the first week sale numbers but they count for certification
So you have an album that sells 350k first week but instantly goes gold
My only critique is that the NLU isn’t aggressive enough. They could’ve slapped some light distortion on SOMETHING

So how do singles work tho?
So how do singles work tho?
Singles after the albums count towards the numerical value but anything before the album goes on sale, just contributes to the certification and that individual song’s numbers

So if NLU got put on the album, Only the streams from that week would count towards first week sales?
Then afterwards the total streams would count towards whole album sales?

Correct. So all the numbers it’s racking up now won’t get counted in the first week’s number, only the numbers from that first week of sales are counted.
But it will go instantly platinum (the album) because the single was so big.

I need one more classic from Kenny and I'll call him the Goat. Not just greatest alive, ever.
